Storm warning at Level 8.
Since the start of this year, we had several level 8 warnings with severe consequences.

The palm tree will show you the speed of the wind, and as usual I was out to get the new storm's advancing clouds. So, a level 8 warning is one of the most dangerous warnings, and it warns about disastrous conditions. We saw a map that depicts the areas that will be affected, and our area was narrowly missed. But it all starts right here before it moves inland with its gale force winds that rapidly chase the clouds over the mountain range.
We are still recovering from all of the previous flood damages in many areas of the country, and they reckon that it will take billions to repair all of the damages. 11 people have lost their lives, and some of the townships were also washed away. Farming crops were drowned by the high-level flood waters, and the emergency services are all now on high alert. It will be a big battle against the odds, and not good news, as we are still in the early winter season.
We had to go out, but before I pulled the car out, I took some shots by standing in our front garden.
Then things started to deteriorate at a fast pace.
2 shots below were what things looked like on the road.
And finally, some shots later in the day.
Mankind has always, since the beginning, battled against nature's power, and it seems like a never-ending battle against the forces that now are said to be getting worse. Not only over here, as so many in other countries also face the same hardships. Electricity pylons knocked down leaving people in the dark for many days, water supply disruptions, bridges and roads washed away trapping and cutting towns off from essential supplies, and I can go on and on...
But all is not lost, as we are an inventive nation, and used to struggling against the odds. Some battles we lose and some we win, but I just feel so much more can be done if we all were to work together. Not so easy as we are also a divided nation, with many problems. Some things that unite us are our sporting teams, as they are world class, and if only this can occur in other spheres, then we will stand a real chance to beat the odds. Sadly, I don't see this happening anytime soon, so one can only hope and pray.
Such is life.
I hope that you enjoyed the pictures.
