Squirrels like Fridays.

I mean, they play hard during the week, and I will also show you a new youngster.

This one above has much attitude, and it rules in the garden.

They arrive early in the morning, and they expect to find fresh avocado, and also peanuts, over here in our front garden. My wife knows how to feed them and once she has placed the food out, then I sit and watch the squirrels' actions through the window in the study. One would think that they will all come together to eat, but no big mistake, as they have to come as to how they fit into the hierarchy. Eldest first, then second eldest, and so on and so forth.

Some of them don't stick to the rules, and they squeeze themselves in before the ones that are older than them, and then there is bedlam in the garden. The older one will rush down on the younger one, and then the race is on, as the younger one has to clear out as fast as it can. Up and down the trellises, whipping themselves into the small tree, and then a long jump to get over the wall, all at high speed, because the chaser is right on its tail all the way. Luckily, we haven't seen the chaser catching the thief yet.

Now check out this one below. The wife cuts the avocados in thin slices, and the squirrels love to eat them, and then they drop the skin.

Mmmm, this is so nice:)

A guineafowl on a roof across the road stood to watch the squirrel actions.

May the guinea had hopes that there might be something left over for it to eat.

And so, it sat down until the action in the garden subsided.

But no, by the time that the squirrels were finished, there were only skins left. By that time the guinea had gone.

And here below is the new youngster, and it must have learnt from the others how to also eat avocado pear.

A real little cutie don't you think.

Imagine that. Squirrels feeding according to their ages. And another thing is that the parents are nowhere around. I think that after each litter is born, the squirrels go away on holiday, maybe they pop down to the harbour and stow away on a cruise liner, travelling to a foreign country:) So, if you see squirrels in your country, they all might be from our country on holiday:)
Such is squirrel life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Those squirrels sound like they have their own little drama series 😂 The way they chase each other for food is like real-life Netflix in your garden! The little one is super cute tho, kinda reminds me how the younger siblings in our house try to sneak food before the older ones.

Squirrel Netflix methinks :) I was a middle child, and the only male in the house, so when my younger siter and my older sister had their food before me, I had to wait my turn, and I dare not complain.
