Some random garden shots.

White roses, rain, and stone fruits that you will see in here.

Oh yeah, it was a wet affair, but I didn't let that worry me, as my only concern was to keep my camera dry. So, I held the camera under my jacket and only took it out to take quick snap shots. The rain has abated and I wouldn't try this in heavy rain, as I am sure that it would damage my camera. Thankfully, as I downloaded the camera on the PC when we got home, I saw that the shots were not too bad.

The weather forecast was that we would have rain for most of the week from Sunday night until Thursday, and I took the photos in here on Monday morning. The forecast was correct, as now on Friday the rain has stopped. We are grateful for every drop of rain that we can get, as we unfortunately didn't get our normal full quota of winter rain, and the dam levels are dangerously low.

Now don't laugh when I tell you that I am not an expert on flower names, but I am daring enough to give them my own names :)

This one I know, as I planted it, and it is a wet Christ Thorn flower.

My wife says that the twins you see below are Hibiscus flowers. I hope she is right. Lol.

Okay, enough of the rain and let's have a look at some stone fruits.

These are nectarines and let me tell you that I tasted one and it was so sour that it made my toes curl. I don't think they are ripe yet (3 shots).

This one I know, and it is also not ripe yet, as they are peaches (2 shots).

What I can't fathom is, why would they call them stone fruits? I know it is because of their pips, but why don't they rather call them for what they are, as pip fruits sounds better to me :) Almost every house over here have fruit trees in their front or back gardens, and when the fruits are ripe, it turns into a feast for the wild birds. I saw some birds in the trees checking out if the fruits are ready, but not yet. Soon they will have a party. We see that our succulents, in the back garden, are starting to flower and I will get some shots of them, as usual, when they are ready.
Such is life.
