Some more Spring Season views.

Birds, bees, and even insects are enjoying the new and warm sunshiny days. Spring is also a mating time for some, and I will show you a variety of lovely photos in this post.
067.JPG

The one above is a Red-faced Mousebird (Urocolius indicus) picking berries in Syringa tree. Wonderful to take a walk in nature and to see all the treasures. Like I said above, I will show you some random pictures that I took on this outing. We have had a torrid, cold, and wet winter, so I am sure that you can understand the critters delight with the warmer weather.
Beautiful all around, and so much to see.
Let's have a look.

A couple of Stable flies were resting on a leaf. But I have to say, that they have a strange bedtime manner :)

Take a guess where this flying bug will land?
173.JPG

176.JPG

Yeah, right on that center yellow heli-pad.
172.JPG

143.JPG

The bees also love the nectar of the paradise flowers.
205.JPG

Now, let me show you how the sun changes the colors of this Malachite Sunbird. Below are 3 photos of the same bird. Lovely dark colors below.
248.JPG

And here it is more of a leafy green color.
162.JPG

And the sun lit him up here in the bright green colors that we see most of the times.
174.JPG

And finally to end the post with a mousebird couple.
106.JPG

We are now, at what they call level 6 power cuts, and that means 3 power cuts per day. People are very angry because of all the false promises that the situation will be improved, but instead the situation is constantly deteriorating. Our economy is shattered and we have one of the highest unemployment figures in the world. Everything comes to a standstill during the power cuts, and even though we are used to it by now after so many years it is just a never ending struggle.
But let me not rant and rave as it just makes us to flee into nature more often in order to protect our sanity.
I hope you have enjoyed the pictures of our outing.

Well, then the flies are certainly sending you a message to become more active :)

Not as much as my baby? Are you referring to the malachite baby?

The hummingbird is a male Malachite Sunbird and yes, they are very elegant.

Ouch! My heart goes out for south Africans who have been going through this for years already. The husband and I planned a vacation in the cape Town in September last year without knowing about this problem and had to endure 10 days of load shedding. Having to time your showers while you have electricity and freezing at night. That's full of frustration.

Your shots on another level of creativity, they are all really amazing. I really don't know my best today, all are really attractive. Thanks so much for sharing Papi.

Ah! So you have been here and yes, the powercuts are very destructive. Just goes to show what mismanagement and corruption can do to a country. And they reckon that it will continue for many more years.

Glad that you liked the shots and thank you for the compliment.

Yeah, I was there for vacation. South Africa is undoubtedly amazing but the powercut is getting everything though. I hope for betterment though

You're welcome, always a pleasure on your blog.

Well, an announcement was made today, that the powercuts will end in 2024. We have had many promises over the years, but time will tell if this is the truth.

Very cool spring photos, very nice. A bird is eating berries, I really liked this photo. And of course, the malachite bird with such an unusual emerald color, a beauty.

Thank you and the strange thing is that the Syringa berries are poisonous for humans, but not for birds.
The male malachites have fluorescent colors and between the sunlight and the shade, their colors change.
