Some lovely bird shots today.

Cold here due to the unexpected snow, but the birds didn't seem to mind.
311.jpg

I framed the snow on the mountain peak in the "V" of a big tree.

A variety of bird pictures to show you how happy the birds are in the cold.
Luckily there was no rain today, as the rain stopped overnight, but we are running at 10C afternoon and 1C early morning.
To beat it all, we are scheduled for a Level 4 power cut tonight and that means that for 4 hours there will be no electricity. Not that it bothers us, but we think here about the mothers with babies and the old people.
Spare a thought also for the thousands that live in tin shacks and let's hope that no fires will be started again by fires that people make to keep warm.
In any case, come and look at the birds.

First up is a singing Southern Fiscal (Lanius collaris).

Up next is a Southern Double-collared Sunbird (Cinnyris chalybeus).

Then we have a singing Cape Wagtail (Motacilla capensis).

We took a break with this snowy mountain picture.

A little Cape White-eye here below (Zosterops virens)

A Cape Robin-chat spotted some cheese (Cossypha caffra)

A female Yellow Bishop posed for me (Euplectes capensis)

A family of Swee Waxbill birds swarmed in to eat some grass seeds.(Coccopygia melaniotis)

And finally, a littler squirrel to greet you all.

Come what may, the birds have to eat and when their tummies are full, they sing praises to thank their Creator. They also show us how to have gratitude for everything that we have, as there are millions of poor people out there that do not know where their next meal will come from.
The recent floods have also destroyed many homes of the poor taking the little bits that they had with it and desperation is at the order of the day. The affected people are housed in community halls and other safe venues until the weather subsides and then they have to leave and to start all over again.
So many days do I wish that I was a bird, wild and free, but it is not to be.
What a life!

I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures.

And That's All Friends.

Thank you kindly for the compliment @dimascastillo90
One just has to do what one has to do, and if it takes a bit of effort, so be it.

Thanks. Have a good week too.

These are very beautiful birds and you're right, no matter what, the birds will always have what to eat. And so for everything, no matter how little, we should be grateful. I've learnt to live life like that. The big things and the little and the wins and losses, I learn to give thanks for all of them.

I agree totally with you, and a life of gratitude is a life that is raised up to expect better things always.
Grateful we should be, even for the breath in our bodies, and so many walk around with sad faces like they are carrying the world on their backs.

Nope, having a smile on your face even when the world is crashing in on me is what I would do. Smile my way out of everything I feel.

Awesome selection today, a pleasure to look! These were my faves:
Waxbill birds family at a lawn and Southern Fiscal on a thin branch.
And the cover pic looks tempting, as a romantic decoration behind the theatrical curtains. Sweet! 🍕 ...and here is your !PIZZA.

It disappeared, like, in 15 minutes -- my babygirl (out of city) was missing !PIZZA for about month, so you can imagine how did she like this surprise. She left me a decent piece for the morning coffee, thou -- good girl, !LOLZ

Wow! What incredibly beautiful birds in these beautiful places! About some, for example, the cape wagtail for the first time I hear. Thanks for sharing.
