Some fun with wild birds on a dark day.

Look! An animal and its babies were walking on a cloud.

I really love this kind of weather, and sadly the big rain has not arrived yet, but we wait in hope.

What I like about these days is that nobody is outside, and we have the planet all to ourselves. The cold keeps them inside and the strong wind gusts only make matters a bit worse. But we don't mind, and the birds also don't mind, as we just do our normal thing. The birds sing and fly, and I take photos of them. A perfect life, isn't it?
So, let's take a look.

This below is a silhouette shot of a Southern Double-collared Sunbird in song.

Then I saw three Sacred Ibises in flight.

Two Egyptian geese also came over.

And then it started getting dark.

And here below are two shots that made my day. A Pied crow tried to land at the top of a tree, but the thin branches could not support the crow's weight.

So, for safety's sake the crow gave up and left to go and try his luck somewhere else.

Now the one thing about the crows is that they like to play, and even if the weather is much worse, they will still be up there playing around in the strong winds. They are masters of flight and like to challenge each other by playing games in the sky. The other birds are not the same as they only fly between point A and point B. Not the crows, as they also like to cruise on the thermals. They think the sky is their playground, and the wind challenges them. Now I know that the pied crows are not the same colors as the European crows, but they are an African breed and have distinctive white necks and chests.

I hope you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

The crows really are different from other types of birds - I think they'd enjoy your stories, and might just be smart enough to read them! The last two pictures were awesome!!!
