Some fun and ocean views.

There are some happy surfing Friday and rip tide photos in here.
283.jpg

The sea was like a mirror in the African sun, but how's this for a surfing family?

Fear nothing, even if a strong wind is about, as it is always the size of the waves that count. Only 3 people out in the ocean and they were having much fun. It is cold in the Atlantic Ocean, but bodysuits make the conditions bearable. We were standing on the promenade as the wind driven sand down on the beach stings our faces and it feels like a thousand bee stings. But come and watch my zoom at work.

Ooops! check out this dismount from the horse's/surfboard's back :)
282.JPG

One down, but fortunately it was no problem.
285.JPG

Just a close shave and I loved to see how a body dived through a wave.
286.JPG

Then it was up and action time again on another wave.
284.JPG

This crowd below was watching the surfing action.
106.JPG

Now I will show you the effects of an angled returning wave.
222.JPG

In this section of the sea, swimming is banned, as the waves return at different angles creating rip tides.
240.JPG

You can imagine the turmoil underneath when the angled wave smashes into an incoming wave.
226.JPG

The surfers were way out at the right-hand side of the non-swimming part of the sea. So the girl had a clear run towards the beach.
291.JPG

Finally, as you can see, they waited for the big waves a far distance into the sea.
280.JPG

Now this is what I call family fun and they all seemed like natural surfers that enjoyed the conditions together as a unit. I miss never having had a chance to partake in a united family event, as our small family, my gran, my mom and my two sisters were always each of us doing our own things. Standing on a stage at school with a certificate for one or another achievement was always insignificant and of no meaning as none of my family were there to support. Even the showcase with all of my boxing trophies was meaningless as no one came to watch my fights. Worldly things hold no luster for me, and my passion is only to care for the downtrodden people in this life.
This will give you a glimpse about why I have such a disdain for achievements, as they are all meaningless to me.
Just saying!

I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures.

And That's All Friends.

Glad and eventually you will see the benefits, as I was also beginner and Hive is not a place where a person can get rich quickly. It takes time and discipline to continue stacking, but it is really worth it.

Standing watching surfers out having fun on the waves, safety in numbers as always.

With parents working 5.5 days a week, it was difficult for them to attend events not having a vehicle, very rare occasion when either one would be able to come along.

Oh yeah, it was a real treat to watch tem out there.

My mom often worked for 7 days a week and at times she even worked double shifts. But in the eyes of a child when one sees how the other parents supported their children, then it leaves a certain longing inside. I worked through the emotions as an adult and I realized that my mom, the sole bread winner, sacrificed her young life to care for her family and to this day she remains to be my hero.

Each had tasks within the home to keep everything running smoothly, sport undertaken was walking or cycling distance. Parents were busy running the home with us helping, being taught....

Evening school plays/special evening event we normally attended as a family. We lived in a different era, I think a lot healthier than what children have to cope with today.

My jobs were to make the fire in the small combustion stove for hot water and to clean the bath, as I was the last one to bath. Rest of the time I was in streets.

You seem to have had a normal childhood and in our suburb, things were very wild.

Blame the technology and I am glad that we grew up with an old house phone that nobody was allowed to touch.

We are lucky as the sea is only 6 kilometers away, but sadly I am too old to try surfing, as my health is very troublesome. But I only enjoy watching others surfing, as it looks so nice and yes, family activities are important.

WOW I can actually hear the surf in my ears and my work week just faded away thinking about that.

THIS is the joy and experience we should strive for as families above all else.

Achievements are fine as long as we put ones like these on top of the list.

SOLID!

Glad that the post brought the sea to your mind my friend and the beach is just down the road from our home.
Family activities are so important in this life, and it always cultivates stronger bonds.
Oh yeah, achievements have no importance to me, as it is care and kindness that counts in my book.
