Some amazing secrets of nature.
I will show you some of nature's ingenuity, as you will also find it amazing.
No, they are too small to be bird eggs, and they were laid inside a plant's leaves.
So what do you think that they could be?
I can tell you that they are eggs, and I was astounded when I discovered whose eggs they were. We live in the Western Cape province of South Africa and wildlife, insects, birds, mammals, reptiles, and a whole lot of other life in nature is on show in this province. So, when I saw this, I called my wife to ask her what she thinks it is. And you know that women know everything. So she answered to tell me what it is.
Now I will not tell you here, as you want you to follow the story.
The summer has dried out this Pelargonium bush that sits next to our front door. In spring season this is a densely leaved bush with lovely colored flowers. But we are now in the hot summer season. Note that this is not an ordinary bush, as there are some secrets to it.
Some more eggs.
Remember this little lady? I used this photo in a post before, but to give context for this post it is essential to show her again. As, some of those eggs below belong to her. She is a Cape Dwarf Gecko. And there is your answer. These are all gecko eggs. This was a first for us to see, as they normally lay them in the gravel or between the stones in the flower beds.
But I think that they were worried about the rain, and so decided to lay them in the pelargonium leaves as they drain the water quickly, and they also cup the sunshine for the eggs to develop. So, to them it is a win-win.
This is the female Cape Skimmer (Orthetrum julia capicola) dragonfly, sitting on the same Pelargonium bush.
A sand wasp getting a drink of water in the pond. See it sitting on the edge of a petal.
I don't know what this little critter is with the big yellow fluffy eyes. It is not a bee and it is not a fly, but what I do know is that it is also a pollinator.
We can't get enough of these little creatures. We love them. Our eyes are forever on the skies for the birds and forever on the ground for all the little creatures. The bushes and trees hold many treasures, and we are always so excited when we find a little creature and see their eyes looking back at us. Ooh...our day is made!
The last two pictures many will not understand, that these are actual pollinators that collect pollen to keep nature alive. Many see them as pests, but let me tell you something. It is the small little empires that rule in nature and it should be as such in our lives. May we never take them for granted, or put poison down for them, as they serve a valuable purpose.
I hope you enjoyed the story and the pictures.

The dragonfly photos are sick 😎 so much detail, does look like the dragonfly ships on Dune 😀, we also have this small Gecko but here they live inside the house, I always wonder where do they put their eggs, they always around and there are a few that comes to my desk every morning, some how they like coffee not sure because of the sugar or they just like coffee, its like they can smell it the minute I put my cup down on my desk, sit around until Im done and once the cup is empty they try to get inside to sip from the bottom, sure its for the sugar but still drink a bit of coffee jejeje ✌️

Thank you and glad that you liked the dragonfly. Normally when geckos live inside, they lay their eggs in the roof. We don't allow them to live inside, but they are all over our gardens outside.
Good to see that they like coffee, and yes, I am sure that the sugar is what attracts them.
A lovely photo of those manmade dragonflies on the sand.

It is a fact that these natural things like flowers and plants are very special for us because of these plants our house becomes more beautiful and we breathe well. With the help of them and we have seen that there are many such things that lay eggs which are natural and very special.

I am happy that you understand the importance of flowers around the house, as the plants are indeed some help with the air that one breathes in. The Citronella plant for instance keeps mosquitos away.
It was a nice experience to find the eggs.
