So, what will it be? The one or the other?

I will show you two cars and if you had a choice, which one of two beauties would you buy? First up is the Lotus and the second one is a Dolly!

This stunning babe is a Lotus 7 kit car, that I saw in a parking lot.

I always cast my eye over the cars parked at shopping centers, as this town where we stay is renowned for its classic cars. So on this day I found two beauties to share with you. The first one is a new idea in kit form, and I can see that many speed lovers will be enticed to buy one.
The Lotus 7 is based upon the original and two South Africans formed a company to manufacture the kit assemblies.
You can read their story Here

A nifty looker that will certainly turn heads on the roads.

Toyota Twin Cam engine tuned to perfection.

A great set of buckle-up racing seats.

And a basic set of instruments up in the front.

Oh yeah, look at that classic bum.

And here is the second choice (My favorite).

You can read up on the Dolly's history HERE

An original Citroen Dolly, in its original 2 tone colors. Some called this car an upside-down pram:)

A really cute little car that has endured over the ages.

Dashboard seemed to be a bit crowded, but this is a small car.

Check out the sexy clip up windows.

Only 4 valves and today cars run around with 16 or more valves.

The rear passenger door opens towards the front, and the roof can be opened for it to look like a sports car. Or to allow head space for tall guys like me :)

A lovely little car that has a great history,

Like I said, there are many classic cars, all still on the roads to be found here and I am fortunate to get some regular sightings. So, I made a separate file for the photos of the old cars, and it is happily growing in content. Some of the cars are very fancy and others are "normal" town cruisers, but they all have a set beauty in common. The car production lines in the old days, were totally different from the modern high speed production lines of today and the quality of the materials is also totally different.

Some of the old classic cars are heavy monsters that drive like tanks and 6 people in a row can be seated on the front seats. Add 8 people on the back bench and you would have a veritable taxi. Families were big in the old days and people were judged by the kinds and models of the cars that they owned. Somehow this judging trend has remained over time, as people still classify the character or the richness of a person according to the cost of their cars. But then there were the clever guys, multi-millionaires that drove around in VW Beetles, or some other non-descript cars. All to avoid attracting attention.
Such was and still is life.

I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures, and please tell me below in the comments which one of these two cars you would like to own.

And That's All Friends.

No doubt I like Dolly, it is a relic, what an interesting place that exhibits classic cars, here I can not sadly see this kind of things, at least I see them in photos, greetings.

Yeah, Dolly is a real classic and the car was very popular in its day.
Sorry that you can't see them and glad that I can show it to you.
Blessings.

First one hands down. But I would move the steering wheel to the right side of the car.

To me I will buy the second because it can protect you from direct sunlight and rainfall

Definitely the Dolly! Love the old French classic. Though I didn't know it's name in English, so it didn't ring a bell until I saw it. In German they call it the duck, not exactly sure why, but I like it. The car kinda does have the elegance of a duck, don't you think? The French nickname deux chevaux or two horses, doesn't quite capture its essence that well.

Agreed with you and that's why I marked it as my favorite. The strangest thing that caught my attention was the cute pop up windows. A 'Duck" also seems to suit it fine, I think. On Google you will see many other local names that it is called, but I liked the "Upside down Pram" name !LOLZ
It is indeed an elegant little car.

Oh, definitely the Dolly... although I didn't know it had an actua name. Back in Europe it was always just a "2CV" or a "Deux Cheveaux" (typically a refrence to its engine power being about as scant as being pulled by two horses). Immensely popular, and surprisingly durable... except in northern climates where they salt the roads in winter and they'd rust through in a couple of seasons!

"Kit" cars can be fun, I suppose... but I'd rather have something with a bit of historical charisma!

Strange that rusting on the salt roads, as the Dolly in the post is at the salty coast and not a spot of rust on it. I read about the two horse power and found it funny !LOL

Same here, as I also prefer the classical style.

For me it would be the Dolly. Not so much for style but being fair I need protection from the sun and try never to ride in convertibles,

Well you have a good reason for opting for the Dolly, although I think that the red color would have to be changed to something that would be more complimentary to the color of your skin.
But then again, it might go well with your red hair !LOL

So good to hear as I also used to be a biker. Then that car would not be a problem for you, as you know how to drive in the wet !LOLZ

You can bring it on, whatever. Rain, Snow, Ice... All Weather and all year round... Trained in the Swiss Alps. 😎 Hahahaha

That is certainly the best way to view biking, as so many are scared of nitty gritty things. Bring it on is a great motto.
