Gorgeous bird indeed, and I have a distant memory about the USA designing one of their fighter jets exactly like the bird's design. I posted about it at the time, but it has become only cobwebs in my mind now. As fist as the bird is, it never hits the ground, as when it spots a rodent, then he grabs it in a precise swooping action. Of course it has to employ the emergency brakes, but it is very accurate and a rodent stands no chance of survival.

Yeah, and thankfully it was only two days, as nothing since. Instead, I saw the bird sitting at the top of a pine tree in another area, and I also got another set of photos of it at the new location. I know that many birders fly their pigeons there and I just hope that they will not suffer many losses, as the peregrine seems to favor pigeon meat.

There was a guy here on hive that also had a tame falcon, but I can't remember his name, as he left a long time ago. I share your thoughts about keeping wild critters for a sport, as it's more than enough for me to get them on camera in the wild.
