Play time in the park.

Come and spend some time with us to watch the dogs at play.
180.jpg

I cannot tell you how much we miss our little Troy. After 17 years with us, he departed to doggy heaven last year November.

Ever since I can remember, I have always had a dog of some kind or another, but as one ages, they creep even deeper into one's heart. Should the human race be able to love like a dog, this world would have so many less problems. Any case the residents here in this town have a variety of dogs, and it's so nice to see that they bring their animals regularly to come and play in the local doggy park next to the mountain river.

So much fun as the smaller dogs were also wrestling each other for the sticks.
131.JPG

This guy was on an actifit fitness run.
140.JPG

They even have a cute dog library stacked with books for the dogs to read :)
192.JPG

Please, please throw the ball, as I am getting desperate for a run.
152.JPG

No one can catch me with this prize as I am the fastest dog on earth.
116.JPG

Yay, yay, I'm so happy, oh so happy, I feel witty and bright.
084.JPG

Now look how I race past this little lady, it made her look for a parking spot.
097.JPG

Oh oh! No one is going to even try to wrestle with this guy for his stick.
162.JPG

Everybody, run, he is coming to look for a sparring partner.

We love to watch the antics of the dogs in the park and I have posted before of them swimming in the river. Crime is a big problem in this country and many of the dogs are kept to warn their owners of possible intruders. Criminals are also wary of the dogs as often we see in the news that one or another kind of dog has attacked burglars and the thieves ran away.

But there is another lesson for us in here and that is our sedentary lifestyles. We can sit for hours behind a PC, or some other IT item, not even to talk about a TV and this is a real danger to our health.
Our backs start to give us problems and our body muscles simply degenerate.
Another problem with this habit is obesity and that has a tendency to turn into diabetes.
So, the dog's message to us today, is to get out there and to start becoming active. For the sake of our health and our happiness!
Think about it.

I hope that you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Dogs really are so much fun. You can’t have a bad day if you watch dogs play! I’m sorry you lost your dog last year. They do become part of the family, and have such a place in your heart!

I agree ‐ we have to stay active. Having a dog helps with that. It gets you out walking. I used to take my dog to the dog park all the time. She’s still with me, but I broke a foot in October and am still recovering. Hopefully we will get back to our dog park routine soon.

Will you get another dog, @papilloncharity?

Totally agreed and I love to watch their antics. Losing a dog is a heartsore thing and I held his head in my hand while the vet was putting him down. He made a last little peep.

I am so sorry that you broke a foot Lady Jayna, as it is difficult to heal a broken foot. A friend of mine also broke a foot some years ago and he is still struggling with it. All because he did not have a good doctor. I hope that your foot will recover perfectly.

In time I might get another dog my friend, once the hurt subsides methinks.

Oh yeah, they are indeed a happy a happy bunch. We all hope for that, but sadly it is not to be as so many people just don't care. They say that you are the way that you treat your dog.

I love watching dogs play, I always say they are smile vortexes! I still miss my Gamine as much as ever and indeed I lack exercise now that she is no longer here to push me out. Thank you for the momentary smile!

Yes, I also love to see their tricks and their happy abundance.
Sorry that your Gamine is no longer around, as it is always a very painful situation.
My pleasure to share.

Lots of happy dogs Love the library for dogs, Sir Stephen.
I understand your feelings on the loss of dear Troy. He was send into your life to bring you and Marion joy for the time he was allotted on this planet. Unfortunately our pets don’t have the long life we wish them to have.
I think you are on to something that we become more attached to our pets as we get older.

Thank you Lady Jo and that library is a real hoot !LOLZ
Sad, but true what you are saying here and for now we only play with other people's dogs.
Such as this little one that came up to Marian today.

We definitely become softer as we age and we appreciate the love of our animals more.
