Oh, the lovely sunshine.

Let the birds show you how much they enjoy the early morning sun.
034.JPG

We have not seen the sun for days due to the storms, and it was some of the worst storms that we have ever had.

But not only the storms and the floods, as we also had some devastating fires that displaced some 2000 people. Among the fire victims was a historical wine estate, as all of its buildings were burnt down to the ground. Storm winds running at close to 100kmh swiped some trucks and caravans off the roads, and many houses lost their roofs. Not a pleasant period and so many people are suffering as a result. Thankfully our disaster management corps were on high alert as well as the fire fighters, and the last time that I checked, there was only one fatality.

I was delighted to see the rise of the sun, even though some clouds were still about. Thankfully the wind has quieted down.

The Egyptian geese sat on a roof across the road from our house.

A dove and a sparrow were also enjoying the morning sun in a tree across the road.

This guy above is a Hadeda Ibis and he sat further down on the same roof as the geese.

A Pied Crow came over and it landed at the top of a tree that was behind the house that the geese and the hadeda sat on.

Preening in the sun, and then finally it took off.

So the weatherman reckons that we will have a cloudy day and I saw that, but I was also happy to see that the clouds were moving in a north/westerly direction. That is normally the direction that our rain comes from, and methinks that the clouds are on their way to be refilled with water. We have had many trees that were torn apart by the wind and now we can hear the noisy clamor of guys with chain saws clearing the roads of fallen tree branches that block the roads.

So, yes, there is repair work in progress all over the area teams are cleaning and moving fallen debris. Roofs, walls, and gates are being repaired, and those ravished by the fires will have to do a complete relook at their way forward. We are so sad and heartsore for their pain at losing what they have worked all their lives for. We can only pray for everyone and try to see if there are people in need of blankets and food and try to help where we can.

The needs everywhere are always great, but just try to help with what you can. Don't do nothing when you can do something.
A day of reflection as we look at how things can so quickly change from minute to minute, every day. May we all never take anything for granted and may we all remain thankful in a chaotic and crazy world.

I hope you have enjoyed the ray of sunshine with the birds today.

A great comment and you show your heart here to me. Yes, indeed we also pray for all of them, and we also pray that soon they will be moved into proper housing.

Yep, the birds can really show us how to live in gratitude.

I like the picture of the swans, they are very compact sunbathing on the roof.

The cuteness of that bird is overloaded in this photography series. And you skrill mas made them rise into prominence with nitty-gritty details of the feathered friends.

Wonderful. Keep it up.

The beautiful birds you photographed must be happy for the sunny days after the storm.

I hope they can recover from their losses and God give them strength to continue their lives.

Thank you @papilloncharity for the pictures and information shared.
Regards 🌿

Oh yes, the birds really show us how to appreciate the sunny days.

Sad, but true that they have had it for so many years, and by Grace, they survive and continue every time.

Thank you also for the comment and may all be well with you and yours.
