Never before have I seen this.
So, prepare yourself to see some sheer magic in the sky.

Now what was that, was the thought that flitted through my mind, and hold on as it gets even better. Note that I caption each picture at the top, and not below.
It was like watching a slow mo silent movie, as two winds met right on the top of our mountain range. The one wind came over from the north, and the other wind came in from the south. And the two winds simply smashed the clouds into each other. The great thing was that I was out there early morning, standing alone in a big open field watching the sky turned into a big movie screen, and I will call this the battle of the winds.
The wind from the north stopped the clouds from the south right in their tracks.
And so, the wind from the south started to build the clouds up.
But the northern wind also started to build its own clouds.
And then I almost choked on my coffee, as I saw the two smash into each other with a severe force. The northern wind hit the southern wind so hard, that it slit its mouth open. Maybe it was trying to bite the northern cloud.
And then the southern wind snapped its mouth closed and it bent its head down against the attack of the southern wind.
The clouds from the south started to increase their size.
But that was a mistake that the northern clouds were waiting for, as it simply cut into the lower foundation of the southern clouds.
And look what was behind the northern wind.
It entered below the southern clouds.
And finally like a giant spear the northern clouds ripped right through the southern clouds.
Just the way that I saw this battle of the winds and the clouds and let me tell you that it was wonderful to watch this silent fight. Even the birds were quiet, and I guess that they were also watching the show :)
Later at home I read an article by someone who had taken the cloud show much earlier with the colors of sunrise, and it was beautiful. Unfortunately, we cannot see any sunrises here, as the mountains block them, but occasionally I get the colored sunrise clouds when they float over the mountains. In any case if you want to see the earlier article that I read, you can look at Google with the prompt, IOL, Did you see this, Cape Town's sky puts on a surreal winter show over Helderberg and Strand. Note that the picture in the lead of the article was taken over the rear side of Table Mountain.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
