From a distance.

I will show you a colored hazy blue/green sky horizon as we travelled towards the town.
142.jpg

Our Eastern horizon is solidly blocked by a mountain range, that runs all the way round to the southern side, and it ends in the Atlantic Ocean at the western side. We are happy with it, as we love mountain views, and the views change constantly by the effects of the wind driven clouds. So, it is not only one boring view every day, as the changes are drastic and beautiful.

Note that the views can also change several times during the day, as you will see a bit later in this post. I first wanted to show you the mountains at this stage, and below the mountains I will show you some other sights.

Clouds started to pile over the mountains.

Beautiful views, and I took several shots of it from different positions.

See what I mean below when I say that our horizon is blocked by the mountain range.

One final look at the mountains, and now for something else.

Later in the day.

Did I tell you that there are changes in the views? Have a look at this below.

I saw that bird in the valley, and it seemed to be headed in my direction.
076.JPG

Yep! I was right and it was a juvenile Jackal Buzzard, as I heard its call.

A helicopter also appeared for a photo shoot pose.

And so, the day was done, but I also have to tell you that during the early afternoon we visited a harbour, and I got some great views to share in another post. Oh, and I also took a lovely sunset to show you in yet another post. Sometimes I gather the photos for a series of posts, but lately it has become more difficult because I think that time has speeded up, or I am now too old and too slow.

As some of you know, I recently had another birthday and the older that I get I have started to resent the birthday parties and things like that. This time around, I had it all my own way, as no fanfare or fancy food and cakes, as I settled for lunch with a cheeseburger. Dancing and parties are for the youngsters, and at my age we are only grateful that I reached another year.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

I observed something like that here a couple of times, but it wasn't as magnificent as shown in your pictures. Just beautiful how the clouds seem to flow down from the mountain.

Thank you and I agree with you, it does not happen every day, and that's why I keep an eye on the mountains every day, as they are close to us. The world of nature is certainly beautiful :)

Oh yes, nature is our favorite place to go and unwind all of the stresses. Our proximity to nature is indeed a great bonus.

I loved that first picture as those clouds poured over the mountains. It almost looks like a giant tidal wave at first glance! What an interesting meteorological effect having the clouds pour over the mountains like that, fascinating!

I hear you on the getting older. The parties just aren't something you want or even remotely desire. To be honest I enjoy a good meal, one of my favorites being a good green chili cheeseburger! I also tend to like a good bottle of Scotch on my birthday, but I drink far less now than my younger years as well. Such is life,.. We can't stay young and immortal (at least in our youthful brains) forever!

Happy belated birthday!

Great that you liked it, and it also continues to fascinate me, especially to sit and watch the slow and steady flow of the clouds down the mountains.

Yeah, we are in the same boat regarding the parties, but I stopped drinking alcohol about 30 years ago. I had more than enough in my wild younger days, and the time arrived to just put a stop to it. I also loved hot chilli burgers until I started having troubles, and now no more spices for me. What a dreary life Lol.

Thank you!
