First a UFO cloud, and then.....
...my hope was to get a shot of the moon dropping into the ocean.

But I was outfoxed by the moon as you will see below.
You can't always get what you want, but you can try, and try, and try, is a song by Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones, and uncle Mick certainly knew what he was singing about. So, I tried and tried on the day to get shots of the moon dropping into the sea, but it was not to be, as the moon had other plans when it saw me. Maybe next time. I also have some other shots in here to share with you.
It was early morning, and we were at a meeting about Papillon's projects, and after the meeting I stepped outside to see the moon hanging above the ocean. Bonus, I thought, and I looked forward to what I have explained above. My imagination switched on to tell me that I would get a great shot of the moon touching the seawater before the moon disappeared. For a long time, I wanted to get a shot like this, and I thought that today was my day. So, come and see.
This, below, is what I saw when I stepped outside.
And so, a long wait started.
And we waited and waited.
But as the moon entered the white strip below the blue, it simply disappeared. I am sure the moon was laughing at me. Look how blue was the see, and if that white strip of cloud was not present, I surely would have seen the moon dropping into the ocean. Ugghh...how annoying! Lol. But not to worry, as I will one day also outfox the moon :)
Just to show you the backside of the famous Table Mountain in the Cape.
A while later the UFO clouds were still hanging around on the mountain.
Got this shot on the way back, and so nice to see the view with no traffic to spoil it.
Finally, when I turned into the road that leads to our house, this tree gave me a welcome home wink :)
Lately things have gotten a bit worse, as I see so many sights that I wish that I had taken a shot of, but I have become slow. Things such as a pair of eagles flying overhead from behind me, and I forgot to switch the camera on. Not only that, but one morning I took my camera out of the bag and walked outside to take some nice sunrise clouds, so I started clicking away and when I looked again, I forgot to put the camera's battery in.
Now don't laugh, as I can tell you now that you cannot do the things that were easy in the younger days, as age seems to dry up the oil in one's movements. Maybe I should go for a service and an oil change. Lol. That old refrain of "Better luck next time", always erases my grudges. But lately, it seems that the next time will not arrive, not that it worries me as I accept everything, good or bad that happens.
Such is life.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Until next time, cheers!
You know, the accumulation of years grants us the exemption from playing a game decided by speed. Now that you have arrived, all those things you would have missed due to haste are now there for the enjoyment!
That moon knew it had a worthy task evading your will by ducking behind cloud. A war it knows it will eventually lose!
The moon sure played a trick on you that day! Diving into the white haze before setting over the ocean. I used to love to be at the beach here in southern California in the evening to watch the full moon dive into the ocean. It really is a spectacular sight when there isn't too much pollution! But I haven't done that in years as beaches at night aren't as safe now as they once were. It's a shame how crime and drugs can ruin the things that could be so easily enjoyed in days past...
The UFO clouds are always fun to see above mountains like that, they aren't all that common! But I'm always excited to see them! I know the conditions and winds have to be just right for it to happen, but it's been a while since I studied up on the science behind it to be honest.
Sorry to hear about those recent challenges, no one said getting older was easy. I'm definitely not as quick as I once was, and those memory lapses tend to happen more and more every year... Forgetting the battery must have been really annoying, but it happens.
Like you said, you can try and try. But sometimes life just doesn't give you what you want. And such is life fits that situation perfectly does it not? I hope you have a great day with your two wives!
