Driving on tenterhooks.

I said somewhere that I would show you a real rainy day. Now watch this.

I took the shots between the gaps of the windshield wipers.

The weatherman was spot on with the warnings that we would have some heavy rain, and as usual very strong winds. But we had to do what we must do, as the meeting could not be postponed. I don't know what it is with us humans, as doubt at times takes the upper hand, and even though we were warned about heavy rain, we doubted the warnings and thought that it would just be the normal fairy rain. Once again, doubt proved it's dubiousness, as it turned out to be the big drops stuff that drums on the car's roof like an army of demented drummers.
So, we had to put our brave nerves on, and you will see here what the conditions were in the morning.

Yes, my timing was suspect between the strokes of the wiper blades.

Heavy winds? Oh yeah, one also has to keep an eye on the big trees like the oak at the right, as the wind could rip it out, as if a tree like that fell on our car, we might have bright new angel wings :)

On our way back from the meeting at 11 am things were darker and wetter, so we knew that the rain would last for the day, and the night.

Just two cloud shots that I took from our front garden.

My wife reckons that I am not normal, but who wants to be normal, it's boring. She dresses like an Eskimo, with layers of clothing, vests and two jackets, with a beanie on her head. I in turn only had a light jacket on. Not that I am a brave man, as for me at least, things are not cold. The temperature was only 12C, and in some European countries, people swim when it's 12C. People have many moaning habits, as when the temp is above 35C under the blazing summer sun so many complain about the heat. But when the temp drops to 12C in winter then they pray for summer to return :)
It seems like we can never be satisfied, as we can find so many things to be wrong. There is nothing that we can do about the weather, but we can always prepare for the cold. Just my way of looking at things.
Such is life.
