Daisy flowers can really enhance the views.

I have some great landscapes to share with you today.

A lovely warm day, with clear skies, and almost wind still.

Crop rotation means that the same crop, such as sunflowers are planted every spring season. It is rotated by planting daisies every two seasons, as the daisies restore and replenish the soil. So, this spring season will be daisy season, and maybe next spring it will be back to sunflowers again.
The flowers are still young, as we are in the last weeks of winter, but they are already putting up a great show.

We were at the Vergelegen Wine Estate, as I wanted to take a walk to one of the dams in order to get some reflections of the mountains in the water. Sadly, a slight breeze sprang up, but it didn't bother me, as I got what I wanted that I will show you in another post. But back to this day, and the daisy flowers. We were also happy to see some of the Nguni cattle behind a yellow line of daisies, and I will also show you close ups of the daisy flowers.
Let's have a look.

A closer shot of the tag picture above.

Yep, the cattle were doing their thing in a camp behind the daisies.

Here below is a closer look at the daisies. We were surprised at the colors of the daisies, as from a distance they all seemed to be yellow daisies.

That bench at the end of the gravel path is our favorite meditation spot.

Imagine taking a stroll in the wide-open spaces of the farm, and listening to the silence, interspersed with birdsong. A far off mooo of a cow is heard occasionally, and it is so very much different from city and town life. No busyness, no rushing, just the standard way of farm life. Now let me tell you that under these circumstances, one's soul can really be rejuvenated.

A good trick is to stop all thoughts that crowd the mind so regularly and try to have none. Not easy, I know, but when a person tries to do this then after a while it becomes natural and then one can really start to appreciate even the silence and the beauty of the creation. There is a hidden power inside us and once we start to cultivate the mind to accept it, new doors are opened up in one's way of life.
Just our way of looking at things.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Thank you for showing such wonderful images, with a very beautiful range of colors.

The mountains, the ground, the cattle and the daisies look very pretty. Even the fog plays an essential role.

I also liked reading about crop rotation because it is an important practice in agriculture that helps the soil restore its nutrients and properties for higher productive yields. Thanks for sharing. Happy Sunday and a better week. Cheers and best regards.

Thank you for the well-informed comment, and all that you mentioned is true. Wait until you see the effect of the tall sunflowers on the views next year, as it is a fantastic view, with the mountains in the background.

Never thought of flowers as part of soil recovery like that. Also, that bench by the gravel path feels like a quiet gem in the whole scene; I can see why it’s your meditation spot. Beautiful photographs as usual Papi thanks for sharing

Well, I am glad that you now know about the mineral, and other natural properties of the soil being restored by switching crops. There is much more to it, but I only mentioned the basics.
You are right, as that bench restores my sanity.
Thank you for the compliment. :)

Wow I was instantly taken away to the set of the sound of music or something. Then the last part read like a meditation tutorial and now I am there.

I love seeing the occasional sunflower field around these parts. Most of the crops are corn, soy beans, wheat and hay with the occasional potato field. Definitely not a picturesque as down there with no pesky mountains to get in the way of the growing.

I can always count on some sort of escape or wildlife lesson with every one of your stories. So great.

All that I remember about the sound of music (haven't seen it) was that my kids sang something like (Supacalafragalistic), or something like that for many months. Excuse the spelling, but I think that you will know it Zeke.
Glad that you thought of the last part of the post as a meditation tutorial, and maybe I should start to focus on teaching meditation classes :)

That is a great photo, and the different crop colors can certainly make for some lovely viewing. Some farmers have lately started to plant soybeans on the lands below the mountains, including their normal crops that are the same as yours. When one is on a flight coming over the lands it looks like a colorful jigsaw puzzle. No comment about the "pesky" mountains. :)

Thank you for the compliment my friend.
