Cute little things to share.

Come and see how this little one eats avocado.

Firstly, we want to say a Happy Friday, and may the weekend be good for all.

I also have a few other bird photos in here, hopefully for you to enjoy. We are blessed with so many bird species here, both big and small, and now that summer has started, the big ones are also starting to appear. It is early summer, and some bird species still have their spring babies to feed. An amazing thing is that there are other bird species that are only now starting to build their nests. They are the bigger birds, and their offspring will take a shorter time period to become adults before the next winter.

A squirrel dropped its left over avocado skin on the wall, and a Cape White-eye (Zosterops virens) started to finish it off.

Gave me a thank you look:)

A Red-winged Starling couple (Onychognathus morio) were anxiously looking around.

Mambo, she said, can you see our little Jambo anywhere?
047.JPG

Nope nothing that side.
050.JPG

Sadly, they couldn't see their child anywhere.

I don't know if this was their little son Jambo, as he was hopping around in another section of the parking lot. Maybe I should have told him that his parents were looking for him:)

This little Southern Double-collared Sunbird (Cinnyris chalybeus) showed us how to handle the wind.

He sat behind the leaves for protection, and he was practicing for his choir performance.

The tinkling notes of his song were drifting along on the wind. Reminded me of a Bob Dylan song, "Blowing in the Wind".

Fun times with the wild birds are so rewarding, as it takes one's mind off all the problems in this world. So many desperate situations that we hear and see every day, and not only that but negativity is top of the pops nowadays. How to avoid it all? One can say, yes, just put on your thick skin and ignore everything, but that is not a real answer. All that we can do is to hope and pray that things will improve, and in the meantime, we seek our solace and serenity in nature.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
