Crazy weather can be beautiful...

...especially when it comes to views of the mountains and clouds.

And the news didn't get any better, as I took these photos on the day before a 3 day cold front landed with gale force winds, rain and snow. Of course, I was out there on all of the days, and I will share it on my blog. We are surrounded by the mountain range in the East, and the Atlantic Ocean at the West, and we live in a bay right in the middle between the two. Now you can imagine what this does to the winds, as when the winds come screaming in from the vast expanse of the ocean it can create havoc. At times the inland wind arrives over the mountains, and they meet the Atlantic wind in the sky. Then they rip the poor clouds apart in their argument. Not on this day, as the wind came in from the north.
With all of this in mind, let me show you some dramatic sights in here.

I saw this Sacred Ibis coming over, and you will see where it went in the next photo.

The weather forecast is 12C with level 2 warnings out all over the place, and we heard on the news of about 45 structures in a township that burnt down in a fire. It is cold and some people make a fire to keep warm, but it is never a good idea as an accident can take place in a second. Living in a tin shack should never be the ideal, but people are drawn from the rural areas to the cities in search of a job and thus shanty towns are jumping up all over the place. Many of them below the water line and in heavy rains they get flooded, so yes, it is a real headache to overcome. Then we also have foreigners crossing our borders, and they also erect shanty towns. Very difficult to keep all of these people safe.
Such is life.

I love clouds in the mountains. It's such majesty in it. I just came back from a travel to the valley on the other side of the Cotacachi volcano, and took some mountain pictures, too. Thank you for sharing!

Oh yeah, crazy indeed, as it even rains in the sunshine, we just don't know what kind of weather to expect anymore. We are on the extreme southern tip of the African continent, and one day I will cross the pond to see the views in Brittany. :))

I love that word "symbiotic" and have not used it for many years. It reminds me of a working relationship between two entities. The one compliments the other.

I love all those photo clouds and Mountain, crazy weather but indeed a paradise when you watch it... Clouds also is beautiful like near raining
