Another beautiful day in the Cape Winelands.
We live in the Western Cape Province of South Africa and it is renowned for the beauty of nature, and in our case for its beaches and mountains.
So, without further ado, I will show you some random pictures here on a farm.
Needless to say, where there is an abundance of nature, there will bound to be various forms of wildlife and we have many species of birdlife here. Such for instance as a Pied Crow above escorting a Peregrine falcon away from the crow's territory.
Just to give you an idea about the wine farms in our own immediate area.
The Cape Winelands is a region of the Western Cape Province of South Africa. It is the largest wine-producing region in South Africa and is divided into six main wine regions, each offering its own unique wine route. Constantia, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl, Robertson and Wellington are the most popular. The geographic area is generally referred to locally as the Boland, meaning uplands in Afrikaans.
Constantia Valley wine region is situated in mountainous surroundings and is home to some of the oldest wine estates in the country.
Stellenbosch wine region is well known in the Cape. In 1971, the first official wine route was founded by Frans Malan of Simonsig, Spatz Sperling of Delheim, and Niel Joubert of Spier.
Franschhoek valley wine region was settled over 300 years ago by the French Huguenots. Set against the backdrop of the Franschhoek and Drakenstein mountains, the village has over 30 wine farms.
The Cape Winelands and their cultural landscape were added to the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List on 24 June 2004 in the Cultural category
And then to have a look at the smaller things on a farm.
Such as the yellow protea pincushions below that are now in full bloom. Then I have a busy squirrel, an actual protea flower starting to bloom and surrounded with red pincushions and finally a bee on a flower.
I took all of these photos at the prestigious Lourensford Wine Estate as it is the closest to us and we have grown to love the farm. I am what they call an inquisitive character with an eye for detail and that has helped me a lot in my life. So, whenever I go out there I often see things that others don't.
We are a bit bushed at the moment as I was at the emergency rooms at 1am for some treatment and that meant another night with only 4 hours sleep.
But I am not moaning as nature always keeps me calm.
I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures.

Thank you for the appreciation Lady Joan and I can still kick myself for not moving here sooner. In fact it's the best place to spend my golden years.
Healthwise, I have to cope whether I like it or not, and the doctor told us today that I am the first patient that he has ever seen with our fight to solve the chronical iron level. Nothing works and now I have to go for another series of infusions starting next week.
Marian is pleased and she said that I must also send her love to you.
Thank you for the tip!

Circumstance always something to stand in ones way of making a move.
When we moved to Warner Beach it was a neat and tidy friendly little coastal town, change happens! Will always try to do right by my family it was the way I was raised, until they make a happy life I will tolerate whatever is thrown my way.
Hope the doctors find an easier way to leverage those iron levels, lets hope it is soon. 🙂
Yep, you are so right and it was very difficult decision to lift anchor up north. But it was time and the gun shots that we heard at night was the right motivation.
You were raised very well and you did go the right way about things. Family is a gift and it is so important to see to their welfare. My one young granddaughter passed her learners license yesterday.
Nope, a 3 week trail of ferratin infusions again, starting on Wednesday.

Guns being shot off, house invasions an ongoing problem here at the moment we should have moved ten years ago, water under the bridge!
One only tries ones best in every situation thrown at you, good your granddaughter has her eyes set on being independent, a license is a must in this country.
Hope the medical procedures go well and not too time consuming.

Good day @papilloncharity, what a lovely post, the pix of the vineyard with the mountains in the background are perfection. You do beautiful work Zak.
I have been on "vacation" from hive for a bit, had a wonderful but very busy summer and fall, working my way back to all my cyber friends, missed you guys.
Hope your ER visit turned out well, did you get stung by that bee?? Hope it was nothing too serious.
Enjoy the rest of your day my friend.
So good to see you again Lady Robin and I was getting a little bit worried. Thankfully I know that you guys can look after yourselves and I knew that sooner or later you will be back.
Missed you too Grammy and welcome back.
Nope, luckily it was not a bee. I woke up with some serious balancing problems, head spinning and almost capsizing a few times. So we waited to see if it would clear during the day, but alas no go. As soon as I got into bed, things became worse and that's when we decided to go to the ER.
Believe it or not, we all have crystals in our ears. It is called BPVV something over here, and the crystals in my damaged left ear went crazy. A young lady doctor knew all about it and she sorted me out.
Now I have to do EPLEY maneuver exercises every night. What a blast !LOL
I say again that I am glad that you are back.
Blessings!

Thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures and insights into the Western Cape Province of South Africa. The natural beauty and diverse wildlife in your area are truly captivating. It's fascinating to learn about the different wine regions and the rich history of winemaking in the Cape Winelands.
The images you've provided give us a glimpse of the stunning landscapes and wildlife that make your region so special. It's clear that you live in a place with a deep connection to nature and a rich cultural heritage. The combination of picturesque beaches, majestic mountains, and thriving birdlife makes it a unique and beautiful part of the world.
Thank you and you have certainly explained my post very well. We are blessed now to live in a photographers paradise, as there is an abundance of nature and wine farms that one can visit.
Of course we also have the ocean with its white sandy beaches close by where I get a lot of photos of sea life, animals and birds.
The area is rich in history and each new generation plays a part in the upkeep of nature in their different farms and businesses. Teams also patrol the rivers to keep them clean and everyone that lives here play their part in the upkeep of things.
The wines win top awards internationally and there are also some great fruit farms, especially the apple farms.
