And here's the sunset.

I showed the preparation clouds for the sunset yesterday.

It looked like the clouds were dusted with fire.

I sometimes made the mistake of leaving right after the sun disappeared, and then halfway on the trip back home we would see these beautiful aftermath colors. When the sun drops below the horizon, one has to wait for a while for the late colors to start. So, I learned my lessons, and now I wait until dark as it is the period just before dark that shows the best colors. I am sure that you will agree with my method, as the images below will show what I am talking about.
So, come and see.

The sun was about to disappear below the horizon.

And finally, the sun was down.

Now I had to wait for a period in order for the colors to start.

In the meantime, I took two shots of a pencil cloud at the south.

When I say pencil, it is the only thing I could think of for this cloud form. A very big pencil at that.

And then the time that I like came and come and look at the colors.

Almost apocalyptic, with flames of fire from the sky.

A bit of a gentler look toward the left of the action.

Three shots below to show you where the clouds came from towards the north.

Finally, a closer look at the back of Table Mountain where it all started.

We love the sunsets, as it always means that everything will be alright as it should be in life. They say that tomorrow is another day, and it is true as we have to focus on the present. It is what we do day by day that will influence our future good or bad, and the golden rule is, do unto others as you would have done to yourself. We try our best to live by that rule, and at times we also screw up but a consolation is that nobody is perfect.

Recently, I find myself in the brain fog club, as I have a tendency to break up mid-sentence as I have forgotten what I wanted to say. I also struggle to remember words and names. They reckon it's an after effect of Covid, and I will just have to live with it. Fortunately, I have my wife at my side during meetings, and she often comes to my rescue by completing my sentences. It is in views like I have in here during the sunset, and I get completely lost for words to describe solace that I feel in my soul.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

I really like the change of colors in the evening from orange to red, to purple and dark blue sometimes. Cool shots!

Is that Table Mountain SA? Didn't recognize it.

The "the brain fog club" is not a nice club to join. I do tend to forget peoples names a lot. It's worse when I have a lot on my mind and don't sleep enough.
Brain training is always a good thing to do by the way.

Oh yes, it was a real magical color show, too amazing to describe.

Yes, it is Table Mountain, but the view is from the back side of the mountain, and not from the popular front ocean view.

Lol, a bit of humor (brain fog club), to describe a real debilitating situation. Of course, old age is the reason, and my mind is becoming like a sieve. Brain training might awake it from its slumber :)

Cool! I've been there many years ago. I even climbed it because the cable car was out of order.

Glad that you could get the chance to go up on the mountain, and the views all round are stunning at the top. It must be a mission to climb it, and since your visit, the cable cars have made great improvements.
