A winter promise.
So great to have an advance promise of rain in our coming winter rainy season.

It is not winter yet, as we first will have to go through the autumn (fall) season, and we are glad that our friends in the northern hemisphere will have spring at last. Like always we hope and pray that our dams will be filled, as the recent heatwave that we had, drained the dam levels even further down. Temperatures in the 40Cs, can drink tons of water out of the dams, and thankfully the heatwave has ended now.
Not that things have so much improved temperature wise now, as they are all over the place. Some nights are cold and some nights are hot. Very unusual, and maybe the global warming issue is real, as we see strange weather all over the world. Over here we are just glad for any rain that we can get, and we took a short drive in the rain to show you what the day looked like.
Come and see.
The sun was covered with cloud.
This madam below used her tail for an umbrella.
The Periwinkle flowers looked lovely covered with rain drops.
And then we were out on the road to see what things looked like.
Amazing to see a sunlit window amongst all of the gloom.
Everything else was dark around that spot of sunlight.
Just a shot inland, and things seemed gradually to be clearing up.
Later back at home, the sun was still battling with the clouds.
I think you know why we get excited every time when we see rain, and yes without water there would be no life. We are dependent on the dams, and although the government is trying other options such as desalination and to recycle used water, our main dependence is on the dams. Drought is a terrible situation, and we have to do everything that we can to avoid it.
We are in nature's hands and let's hope that our winter rainfall will come with abundance. I love the smell of the land after rain as arable soil and water, has a tangy clay smell, and its fresh. So, we are happy with this early winter promise of rain, and let's hope that the water will come down in bucket loads.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

I really love the picture especially the squirrel always looking curious. It's good to know the government comes in for regarding water issues.
Me gusta mucho la foto donde se ve la luz del sol entre las nubes oscuras. Es verdad que el clima está muy extraño en todo el mundo últimamente.
I really like the photo where the sunlight is seen among the dark clouds. It is true that the weather is very strange all over the world lately.
