A sunshine band across the mountain.

Something told me to wait, and to keep an eye on the development of the sun line.

It was so great to watch the changing views on the mountains, and a strong wind delivered some lovely views. 5 photos below to show you how a target such as the sunshine line across a mountain can change. The gale force winds are back in action, as they show nature's power. Talking about power, there are many media articles that show the floods in the north of our country. We have always felt that the quantity and the quality of the rain have become more intense.

To bare this truth out, a farm far up north had a record rainfall as the owner keeps a journal of the amount of rain every year. All of a sudden, the quantity of rain has increased dramatically to such an extent that it amounts to almost double of the previous record. Another strange thing is that the arid and semi-desert areas up north are getting flooded with rain. So, yes, the weather patterns across the world keep on changing, and over here the farmers have to try and figure out new planting times.

Changes are forever on view with the wind streaming the clouds across the mountains.

Finally, just a bit of sunset cloud back at home.

We have heard from family and friends up north that the rain in their summer rainfall areas is supposed to be slowly ebbing now, but instead the rainfall keeps on increasing. South Africa is a sporting country, and we feel for the cricketers when their pitches get waterlogged as then they have to reschedule matches and hope for better weather. Our rain down here in the winter rainfall areas has seen a very early start to the rain than the normal, in March already.

Not that we are complaining or moaning, as all of us just have to adapt to the conditions. The secret is to prepare for anything and sadly for many get caught out by the conditions and have to suffer the consequences of failed crops and increased pest invasions. We have rat boxes filled with poison on the exterior walls in our complex, and a concern is that the squirrels are now, all of a sudden out of the norm, starting to bite through the hard plastic covers to get to the poisoned food inside. A first for us to see this, as we have never seen it before.
Such is life.
