A squirrel, and a goose battle.

She has high standards, and hygiene is on top of her list.

So instead of drinking from a pool of rainwater, she rather drinks fresh and clean water.

Just goes to show how intelligent the squirrels are. I have no doubt that they know not to drink the rainwater, as the metals in it could damage their small stomachs. But in saying this, we used to drink rainwater in my younger days. Days were cleaner then, but with all the smog and air pollution nowadays the rainwater is actually dirty. Some garden centers even advise the clients to use fresh water after the rains to wash the rainwater off.

Right, here she comes.

Time for lunch, and of course the wife laid out a platter of acorns.

A happy little lady.

.
And now I will show you a goose that fights for his seat.

The doves normally sit on that roof peak, and so, they regard it as their territory. And so, at first a little laughing dove tried to scare the goose away.
100.JPG

But the dove was not very successful, as the goose simply ignored it.
101.JPG

Another ringneck dove that is bigger than a laughing dove also bombed the goose, but still no luck to get the goose away.
102.JPG

Then this happened, as out of nowhere a challenger popped up.
111.JPG

Great, the fight was on, but not so great, as they dropped behind a big tree below the roof, and I could not see the rest of it. Save to say that the goose vacated his position on the rooftop, and the doves were happy.
112.JPG

Maybe the doves had a connection with the other goose challenger, and they told him that the goose on the roof said that he was a chicken. Lol
FUD at play, as we are all swamped by false stories. One has to be careful online, as nowadays with AI in the background many false stories are created. For instance, a person can highjack (clone) one's account, and as soon as they start to spread misinformation people will believe that it's really you that said it all.

A weird world that we now live in, and it gets weirder day by day. Criminals are having a ball, and many peoples bank accounts are cleaned out. Scams are ten a penny on the web, and it is not an if anymore, but when it happens to one. We had an issue when someone with a Netflix account paid his monthly premium from our account. We don't even have a TV, or a streaming account, and fortunately my wife noticed the payments and notified the bank. It cost us a lot of work to prove that it was a scam, but fortunately the bank re-imbursed us.

So, beware and don't click on any links.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

What an interesting read! From an intelligent squirrel, to the invasion of territory, to being scammed...lol! I loved it!
The sad part though is the topic you ended your post with is really not something to bring a smile to our faces. And yet, as you say, it is something we have to deal with these days. But thanks for mentioning that as well, as we constantly need to be reminded about it. One can never be too careful.

Thank you for your appreciation of the post, and I am glad that you understand what I am trying to do, with the hope that some reader will be warned and saved from becoming a victim. Madness out there these days.

That’s one gorgeous squirrel that know what she wants. Most of us humans don’t even know how to stand our grounds…
I’ve been a Vic times of scams couple of time, hope not to have that experience again

We should all have similar containers for birds to drink water and eat. It brings a lot of joy and rewards.

I agree with you, and one can only hope that others will also start to do it.

The writing and the pictures are equally interesting to read and look at. This is my favorite.

Your momma squirrel is very fortunate to have such good caregivers. I can't wait to see her babies once she brings them around. ;-)

Such an interesting illustrated story because it had a start and an end.

Well, at least a happy ending to the story for the doves, but I wonder what happened to the goose!
Scammers everywhere. Someone got into one of our Silver Bloggers', pandamama's, account. She only realized after a couple of power-downs and transferring to another account!
I hope you and Marian are having a good Sunday, Zac!

I saw the goose again on the roof late yesterday, and I guess that he got the better of the attacker.
What! Do you know how the scammers got into her account, and can they trace the other account where the power-downs were sent to?

Thank you Lady Lizzie, we both have foggy heads and will go for long covid tests, as too much is going wrong with us getting all of these new infections.
Hope that your Sunday is good.
