A prize gift, totally unexpected.

Early morning after our full moon the night before.

The moon was on its way down to the ocean, and I got this.

I am forever trying to get a bird, or a plane on the moon, and this morning was an exceptional start to my day. Nature decided to give me a gift and I was delighted, especially as I struggled to get photos of the full moon last night due to cloudy weather.

This photo below is what I saw when I opened the curtain of our study window. So of course, I was outside in a flash to set up in our front garden.

Now let me tell you, that it is difficult to get the timing right in order to get the birds centralized on the moon. I had a few total misses because the birds turned sharply unexpectedly, but grace was with me and I am happy to show you this.

Here below, the moon was steadily dropping down towards a line of trees on the horizon, and I knew that the show would soon be over. But I didn't mind at all, as I got all of this as a gift, and it was more than enough for me. Even just one shot, like the first and last picture in this post, would be more than enough for me. So, yes it was a happy morning.

And then the show was over, and I came back inside to post this magnificent gift now.

Like I said, I struggled to get the full moon last night, but thankfully nature decided to reward me this morning with her usual abundance. Life is like that, as I often find that a misty mood can be instantly lighted up with an unexpected outcome. All of us, in this world, get some pleasant surprises at times, and that is what life is all about. The secret is to stay in the moment, and to always be ready for anything.
Such is life.

I hope you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Wow!!! It's an amazing sight, what kind of birds were they? At first I thought maybe crows, but the flock seems too big.

Are you cross posting this in Feathered Friends? I want to add it in Let Our Picture Tell Your Story!

Thank you and yes, it was indeed a great surprise! Very difficult to say what kind of birds they are, as the distance made things difficult. Maybe a flock of chickens !LOL

Cross posted, and enjoy with my blessings :))

Yesterday was Poonam so the full moon was seen but we had night time here. When the moon looks beautiful in the daylight. Also, you have captured the background of the moon with the flying bird in the camera, it is very beautiful. @papilloncharity

Thank you, and sadly our night was cloudy, so I couldn't get the moon on camera. But this morning was clear and I was happy to get the pictures. It was a great gift.

It often happens that even in the morning we see the moon and as soon as the day gets longer, the sight disappears. The sight is very beautiful when the birds are flying like this.

Oh yes, the moon always disappear here in the mornings, and one has to be quick to get it on camera. Thank you and the birds add great character to the pictures.

Capturing birds on the move across the moon early morning superb lighting, with what appears to possibly be starlings having fun in early flight.

Enough to make one spirit sour for the rest of the day, delightful sighting!

Thank you and yes, the light was not bad for a change. It might be starlings, but difficult to say for definite.

It really did make my day !LOLZ

We have a very small bird, about 20 together pass over every evening no idea which they are either, fast noisy little bunch as well!

Yep, the smaller they get, the more difficult it becomes to identify them. The dim light doesn't make matter easier. The big birds are easy to identify, such as two flying cormorants.
