A misty town.

I always call a misty morning a great start to the day.

Mist is the breath of the Atlantic Ocean clearing its throat, and it smells very fishy:)

So sad that the mist hardly ever stays for a whole day, because I like to walk around in it, it gives me a mysterious feeling. I can only imagine what the ancient sailors on the ships thought about the mist, as how did they navigate in it without instruments. I think that is why there were so many ships that run on to the rocks over here.

The first thing I do is to go and see what the mountains look like, and it didn't disappoint. Thick layers of misty clouds lay upon and below them. Magical views and I was in fairyland. Funny how the mist can affect one's emotions, as we all have a bit of mysticism within ourselves. So, come and see how this day turned out to be.

First, a look at the mountains.

Have a look between those two palm trees in the sky. Can you see a helicopter heading over the mountains?

And so, I waited for the chopper to return. Yip! After a while it returned and I got it again between the two palm trees.

Also, here above one of the palms.

As it came along the mist started to disappear.

And finally, to show you that the mist was gone.

The mist can, at times, flow over the mountains in the East, but it does not have the salty flavor in one's nostrils as when it comes from the ocean in the West. Sometimes, the mist is so thick that one can even reach out and feel it. Of course, your hand will come back wet, but at least you can brag that you felt the mist:)

On a serious note, though, the mist can also create accidents on the wet roads when a driver's visibility is restricted. A friend on Hive that is no longer around, lives in Austria and he once showed me how thick the mist can get there in the mountain passes. One can hardly see one meter ahead. Thank goodness we don't have such dense mist here in our town. But, in a town inland in South Africa called Belfast the mist can also become just as dense as in Austria. We used to pass through Belfast, early morning on our way to work and I had to sit on the front bonnet of the car with a flashlight to guide the driver.
Such was life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Morning,
The misty town described in your article is truly enchanting.
Have you ever explored the town further on such misty days?
It is rare to observe this phenomenon in my region.
Have a great day

Thank you, and yes, I live in the town. We are close to the sea, and most of the times the fog come in from the ocean.
