A lovely Painted Lady.

After my blood tests were done, the first thing that I wanted was a cup of coffee. But a surprise gift was waiting for me.
Not for long on the rock though, as painted ladies like to flit around.

The beauty of this lady can light up the sunshine in one's heart.

The great thing about the coffee shop is that they serve the coffee in a plunger. One of those filter things with a plunger that one can push down by hand, before pouring the coffee into a cup. So in between my short walk about I finished 2 plungers, 4 cups of coffee, and I was energized.
But let me start with my surprise visitor.

A slight movement caught my eye and there she was. Sitting on a rock to show me her beauty. Just have a look at her beautiful eyes.

A white lily was shyly peeping out at me from behind some flowers.

Finally, let me show you a quick 1-hour weather change of the same scene.

This was a close up of the picture below.

And this was the overall look when we arrived.

Now look at this! I took the shot as we got into our car to leave.

We have very strong winds at the extreme southern tip of the African continent, and one has to keep a constant eye on the weather at all times. Especially now during the rainy winter season and I had to learn this the hard way when we first arrived here in the Cape. Several soakings quickly taught me to keep an eye out, as the weatherman is not always correct with his predictions. I don't blame him, as the winds can change direction in an instant and then one can get terribly wet :)

The habits of the animals are also a good indicator of determining the weather, as the birds stop singing and the squirrels cover themselves with their tails. When they do that, then you can know that some cold is on its way. But this is the life in nature and one can learn so much from it.
The thing that makes me glad is that many trees are now being planted here and maybe, just maybe, people are becoming aware of the need to nurture nature. I know that the birds will be very happy, and we might even save some of the bird species that are on the endangered list.
So, things are starting to look good over here.

I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Just to think that in the 50's and 60's, these beauties were still on our roads every day.
So strange how life changes.

It is because of the blockchain that I pause when i didnt before to snap pictures of things like pappillons! Brings me joy like seeing your posts when i am scrolling through my feed.

Weather has been changing quite rapidly here too. Beautiful and blue then BAM huge rainstorm (orcworse!) then back to blue again. That is our summer and your winter i suppose?
