A lovely outing.

I want to show you what a strong wind does, and also an old tree that thankfully was not invaded by the borer beetles yet.
The clouds formed a halo above this landscape.

I love to see how the wind herd the clouds around at speed. It always reminds me of the sheep dogs herding sheep.

One moment the landscape had a halo, and few minutes later the entire apple cart was upended as you can see in the next two photos.

Sadly, we have lost hundreds of old trees here to the borer beetles, so bad that I will show you in another post of the latest one that we loved and lost.

Just have a look at this old majestic dame, standing upright in her prime and dominating the landscape.

Come, lets have a closer look at her to see if there are any damages.

Nothing to see here, except beauty.

That branch always reminds me of a python snake.

And now I will show you two other lovely landscapes.

The world is in turmoil, as weather-wise things have become strange and destructive all over the world. Just the other day, Japan had a terrible earthquake and we have seen the damages online. Just imagine, you and your family are sitting around a table getting ready to eat, and the next moment the ground opens up underneath your house. Terrible! Then of course, there are also the floods and the fires, and to add to all of this are the wars. Another huge problem is the weakening of the economies of many countries, and all of this together sounds like a real madhouse.

Here in South Africa, we are also facing a smorgasbord of challenges, and I think that the world is slowly starting to go crazy. If it is not crazy enough already.
So, my way of handling all of this is by fleeing into nature at every opportunity that we can. The rest of the time, we try to help people to patch up their lives. Something for all of us to think about on this Sunday, and we hope that many of you are in a much better situation at present. Please pray for all of those that are suffering.
Such is life.

I hope you have enjoyed the pictures.

What a lovely way to escape the madness of today's world. There is no greater beauty than that provided by nature.

I agree that the world is quickly descending into madness and there will be many who need help patching up their lives. Keep up the good work!

Always such a pleasure to take the outings into nature, as it restores one's soul.

Try to do what we can, and things are not easy for so many.

You certainly live in a stunning place!!!

I've been on vacation for the last two weels and we've really just had cloudy weather!
Although it's not the end of the world I would have preferred to have sun shine....
Some very nice pictures though!!

Way too expensive for us, but we have an inverter trolley. Or should I say, had, as it is in for the fixing of some software issue.

I've never heard of Borer Beetles, I'm sorry to hear they're destroying some of the local trees.

Great photos, and the closing statement about the world going crazy is so true. Here in Ireland we had a tornado, which isn't brand new, as they've happened before, but they are really rare.

Escaping to nature is a good idea, and a great way of clearing the mind of all the madness. I got into Stoicism over the last few years, and it helped me from getting stressed about things that are out of my control.

It's good to know what's going on in the world, but it's also important to do things to help - even if they're small actions - rather than feeling powerless to help the big things.

Oh yes, the borer beetles do exactly that. They bore the tree trunks out form the inside, causing the old trees to lose their strength, and then our fierce winds, blow the trees over. So as a preventative measure, they rather cut the infested trees down.

And they reckon that the weather, now in the El Nino phase, will continue to create greater damages this time round.

Nature is my mental doctor, as re-connection to the earth, is a great way to escape the madness and the stresses.

So true, and that is precisely why we support a few projects, as sitting around moaning is not going to help anyone.

We all love such beautiful views, especially when there are clouds above the sky and the sky is visible, and I myself go to such places a lot and take pictures.
