A fish mafia.

This crowd in a pond was on a hunt for their imposter enemies.

Can fish have a mafia syndicate? I don't know, but my imagination thinks that they can. I had to put a story to this post and just had to give my mind free reign. So, it came up with this that you will see below. I don't know too much about Koi fish as I only know them as fish, and these might even just be ordinary goldfish, but I know that there are some fish experts here on Hive to tell us what they are.

Life is so peaceful when one sits down at a pond to watch another world of aqua activities. Everything is as it should be, and the saying for a bunch of fish, is actually called a school of fish. I wonder where the teachers were during this instance, as that mob were real bullies chasing the two others away from their territory. Maybe this is not what it was at all in reality but that doesn't worry me as this is just my interpretation of it.

These two were on a raid in the mafia's territory.

And the first imposter fled from carnage.

Here, the other one also just made an escape.

A fish journalist was also around to get headline news of the incident.

So, the fish mafia inspected the damages to their feeding spot.

And then they decided to erase all evidence of the two imposter enemies.

Setting up a cauldron of dust that will settle down on the pond bed.

Some onlookers also watched the show.

And finally, all was well in fish land again.

These days I seem to be struggling with words, as after the first sentence I forget what I wanted to write in the second sentence. So, then I have to sit back and think, which is also a very tardy process. Things have slowed down in my life, and my posts also take a longer time to complete. Normally, I can rattle off anything, but now we are looking at the stresses that our work leaves us with.

Just think about it, as you look at these photos you can see how different our lives have become. We are supposed to enjoy life, just like the fish, but they don't have our worries, as they get free food every day, and everything that they need is given to them. They don't have jobs or long working hours, and it is incomparable to our human lives. But even so, to me they are messengers of peace.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

It is funny how fish have their own school and can aggressively chase off anybody who dares enter their territory! I've seen it in fish tanks and even diving on reefs. Of course then you have the solitary bosses that don't even like people on their turf. I've frequently had a large barracuda follow me around while lobster hunting out on reefs in the Caribbean back in the day! Of course since we were much bigger that's all they dared to was to follow and watch, they couldn't do much...

Nice pictures of the fish, not sure if they are just goldfish either. Not much of a koi expert either. There are some other fish in there as well but it seems they mostly seem to get along well except for a few outsiders. I guess we'll never understand fish dynamics, but it is a simpler life than we live. They do get free food and don't have to work for it. No long hours in the office or out at work... Our lives have become more and more stressful it seems as "society" progresses. For all the progress the problems seem to remain the same, which is a sad statement for mankind as a whole.

Sorry to hear about the writing difficulties, I run into those frequently myself. I guess once you're not a spring chicken anymore the old brain doesn't work quite as efficiently as it once did. I've sure noticed the difference over the last twenty years, I'm definitely not quite as sharp as I once was!

Glad you had some time to enjoy the fish, and I hope it was a relaxing, temporary escape from the stresses of the real world!

I think the idea came from my fight here with the big doves bullying the smaller doves and birds when they come into the garden. But you are right as almost all wildlife in nature has their own territories. Never heard of a barracuda biting anyone, and I am glad that you did not try to pat it Lol

Yeah, fish have a simple life, eat, sleep, and procreate, and maybe it's a lesson to us to become more relaxed, as we like to overload on stresses. Someone said that if we could laugh at ourselves, then we will make better progress in life. But so many of us are hooked on the poison of ego, and popularity, that turns out to bite us you know where. Humor is always a great stress reliever, and I am happy when I get someone to smile.

I will be going for some tests in order to determine my brain condition, but I don't have much hope that anything can be done to improve it. Getting old is not for sissies as they say, and one just has to accept and embrace the changes.

Glad that you are glad, and correct as the brief interludes really relaxes me :)

Hi @papilloncharity
I really liked what you told us about those beautiful photos of the fish. I imagine that, like everything in nature, the school of fish has its own rules for maintaining balance, and you interpreted that in a very funny way.

I feel the same way you do. Sometimes I have a really hard time focusing on writing, even though I love it, but daily stress and my thoughts just wear me out. Like you said, we humans make life so complicated for ourselves.
My daughter told me about a technique called the Pomodoro Technique that has helped me. I hope it helps you, too.
May this be a wonderful day for you, and many blessings. ✨️

Hi @popurri
I am glad that you liked my humorous take on the fish situation :)

Maybe you are also getting old, and recently all our lives have been filled with complications. Thank you for the tip on the Pomodoro Technique and I will ask Mrs. Google to tell me about it.
Many blessings also to you and your family!

All my life, I never imagined that a fish would have a mafia 😂😂
How do they attack their ememies? Lemme guess, one fish be like "yo dawg.... Lemme hold them fins." 😂

Disclaimer: I was just joking

Anyways, I actually know of aquatic life hunting together. Like Orcas.

This was a nice read.

i loved your story about the fish mafia because you have an incredible imagination to turn pond photos into an action movie. don't worry about writing slower because what matters is the quality and the feeling you put into it and that shows in every word. thank you for sharing this peace from your garden.
