A break in the rain.

This is our smallest squirrel and she gave me a loving look.

We make sure to put food out when the rain stops for a while. I have the squirrels and some sky views in here to share with you.

The squirrels know, and we know that the break in the rain was only temporary, and so they come to fill their stomachs in order to endure during the next storm. You might know by now, that we have had a series of cold fronts hitting our shores this winter. The floods created havoc once again, and thousands were evacuated and lost their homes. But now, at this stage, it's the latter part of winter and thankfully the rain is much milder. Nevertheless, the nights are icy cold and wet, and the wind just makes matters worse. But I am not complaining, as we just have to see it through.

The little ones below, are always in a hurry, so they will grab and eat and run, as there is a bully around.

And there he was. He chases the others out into the street and into the bushes.

Then he would sit and take his time to eat, keeping an eye out in case any other squirrels come near.

But the little one, in the picture below, is clever. She watches when the bully leaves, and then she pops back in for a bite.

Now I will show you some quick changes in our sky on the day.

This one below, showed me a little elf in the sky.

Ever seen a crow with four wings? Not really, as the mate was right behind the crow in the front. Sort of a synchronized taking off.

Yep, the rain clouds started to roll back in.

And finally, the palms enjoyed the sun.

I am keeping an eye on the mountain peaks for snow, and it seems like we will not have a big amount of snow on the peaks as I could only see traces of snow. I will share that with you tomorrow (Sunday). Great news is that I have now also found the Malachite nest with the mom working on it. So now I have a Southern Double-collared sunbird nest and a Malachite one to watch. Hopefully, I will get the babies again, like I did last season. But last season I only had a Malachite nest. Oh, and also a Wagtail bird, busy preparing a nest. Good times will come when spring arrives.

I hope you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Your squirrels are cute, they were hungry but they know where their food is. Beautiful scenery you show us. I hope the rain doesn't continue to affect you and the weather improves. A little sunshine would be nice. Greetings and have a nice Sunday.😀🤗

My wife likes to feed wild birds, and she started to feed the birds in our front garden. Then one day a squirrel came to visit, and she decided to put their favorite food outside. So now there are many squirrels coming in to eat here. Another 2-3 weeks and the rain will be over until next winter.
Have a good new week.
