Hola querido hiver.

La comunidad Photo-essay continúa con sus concursos en torno a los colores. Esta es la cuarta semana y nos toca pasar al verde y utilizar la etiqueta #green-essay. Con 5 fotografías y 150 palabras que las describan, ya puedes publicar ella. ¡Así de fácil!

El color verde es para mí un símbolo de la vida. Gracias al verde de la clorofila de las plantas, éstas transforman la energía del sol en su alimento y purifican el aire que respiramos.

Al ser el reino vegetal el más representado por este color, he elegido como portada las briznas de hierba mojadas todavía por el riego matutino. En cuanto al título, es el primer verso de uno de los poemas más conocidos del Cancionero de Federico García Lorca, uno de los poetas españoles más importantes.

Seguimos con las plantas, si no recuerdo mal esto se podría considerar un liquen o musgo. Es frecuente verlo crecer en las cortezas de los chopos, que aquí en España son abundantes. Eligen siempre que pueden su cara norte.

Otra especie frecuente por estas tierras, tanto en forma de cultivo como para ornamento, es el olivo. Ya comienzan a verse los primeros frutos, las aceitunas, que no son cosechados hasta final de año.

Otro fruto que se desarrolla ahora es el higo. Me recuerda a la tierra de mi madre, Extremadura, porque al pasar allí mis vacaciones infantiles coincidía con su época de madurez para finales de verano. Por entonces me comí tantos que ya dejaron de apetecerme. Sin embargo, el aroma de la higuera me transporta a esos días de despreocupación y felicidad inocentes.

Doy por terminado el apartado vegetal con un racimo de uvas verdes creciendo en una parra.

Cerca de mi casa hay un parque infantil cuyo color predominante en los juegos es el verde. Esta mañana al dar el paseo con mi perrito Rocky aproveché para captaurar un par de instantáneas en él. Este juego no sé cómo llamarlo, para mí fue siempre "el muelle".

Ay, el tobogán... ¿a qué niño no le gusta lanzarse por él? En la región donde vivo hay una palabra muy divertida para denominarlo: esbarizaculos, que viene a significar lo que se hace con él en forma literal: deslizar el trasero, jajaja.

El espacio dedicado a la circulación de bicicletas se suele encontrar pintado de color verde. La zona que se ve en gris es porque forma parte del cruce por el que pasan los coches.

Hablando de coches, he recordado que el semáforo también tiene sus luces verdes. Para mis amigos alemanes: tuve un llavero con el ampelmann, jeje, recuerdo del viaje de una amiga.

Más luces de color verde, esta vez en el ascensor de mi bloque.

Retomando el mobiliario urbano, este modelo de papelera era la más abundante en la ciudad hasta hace unos años. Muchas fueron sustituidas por otras más bonitas pero que se han oxidado rápido.

Esta pobre tiene ya muchos años, la casa está medio abandonada y puesta a la venta sin encontrar comprador.

Hace unos años ya que obtuve una similar.

The Photo-essay community continues with its colour-themed competitions. This is the fourth week and it's our turn to go green and use the hashtag #green-essay. With 5 photos and 150 words to describe them, you can publish it. It's that easy!

In case you're up for it, here's the link to this week's call for entries. This publication is my participation and I invite you to join in and share with us your own photos.

For me, the colour green is a symbol of life. Thanks to the green chlorophyll in plants, they transform the sun's energy into food and purify the air we breathe.

As the plant kingdom is the one most represented by this colour, I have chosen as the cover the blades of grass still wet from the morning watering. As for the title, it is the first verse of one of the best known poems of the Cancionero by Federico García Lorca, one of the most important Spanish poets.

Continuing with plants, if I remember correctly this could be considered a lichen or moss. It is often seen growing on the bark of poplar trees, which are abundant here in Spain. They always choose the north side of the tree when they can.

Another frequent species in these lands, both as a crop and for ornamentation, is the olive tree. The first fruits, the olives, which are not harvested until the end of the year, are already beginning to be seen.

Another fruit that is developing now is the fig. It reminds me of my mother's homeland, Extremadura, because when I spent my childhood holidays there it coincided with its ripening season at the end of summer. At that time I ate so many that I no longer had any appetite for them. However, the scent of the fig tree takes me back to those days of carefree and innocent happiness.

I end the vegetable section with a bunch of green grapes growing on a vine.

Near my house there is a children's playground where green is the predominant colour of the playground equipment. This morning I went for a walk with my little dog Rocky and I took the opportunity to take a couple of snapshots there. I don't know what to call this game, for me it was always "the dock".

Oh, the slide... What child doesn't like to go down it? In the region where I live there is a funny word for it: esbarizaculos, which comes to mean what you do with it literally: slide your butt, hahaha.

Speaking of cars, I remembered that the traffic lights also have green lights. For my German friends: I had a key ring with the ampelmann, hehe, souvenir from a friend's trip.

Going back to urban furniture, this model of litter bin was the most abundant in the city until a few years ago. Many of them have been replaced by others that are nicer but have rusted quickly.
