Un mundo amarillo // A yellow world // Photo-essay Community Contest

Hola querido hiver.

La comunidad Photo-essay continúa con sus concursos en torno a los colores y esta semana pasamos al amarillo y la etiqueta #yellow-essay. Ya sabes: solo necesitas 5 fotografías y 150 palabras que las describan, nada más.

Por si acaso, te dejo aquí el enlace a la convocatoria de esta semana. Esta publicación es mi participación y te invito a que te unas y compartas con nosotros tus propias fotos.

El amarillo transmite calidez, podría decirse que representa el tiempo de verano, que pronto llegará al hemisferio norte. Amarillo es el sol que alumbra la vida de nuestro planeta, las arenas del desierto y el polen de las flores.

Hablando de flores, la fotografía de la portada son las del arce y la imagen fue tomada esta misma mañana. Pero hay más flores amarillas que te puedo enseñar y que todas ellas crecen por los alrededores de mi casa.

Aunque parece un girasol, se trata de la árnica de secano.

Por aquí aparece la achicoria dulce.

Y esta preciosidad se conoce como zapaticos de la virgen.

Antes de abandonar el reino vegetal, vamos a tomarnos una manzana baby, jeje. Como el árbol está en un parque cercano, me temo que no llegará a manzana adulta.

Como supongo que no serás muy entendido en tamaños de hojas de manzanos, para que te hagas una idea medía unos 4 centímetros de diámetro.

¿Pensabas que te ibas a escapar de los globos? ¡Poco me conoces! Aunque aviso que se me empiezan a agotar las existencias, jajaja.

¿De qué color son los semáforos en el lugar donde vives? ¡En Zaragoza son amarillos! Cuenta la leyenda que eligieron este color para que destacasen más y los conductores los vieran... no sé si habrá evitado muchos accidentes, pero con uno solo ya habrá merecido la pena, ¿no te parece?

Cuando me pongo en modo radar detector encuentro lo que esté relacionado con mi búsqueda por todas partes. Si la teoría de los semáforos es correcta, entiendo mejor que este botón del ascensor del bloque de pisos sea amarillo.

Si recuerdas los años 80, esta simpática carita te resultará más que familiar. Es uno de los primeros objetos de merchandising internacional que registré en mi memoria.

Si eres más joven y no te puedes acordar, ¡que sepas que los emojis son una copia descarada y existían antes de que llegara internet!

En España los buzones de correo postal son amarillos y redondos. La de cartas que he deslizado por esas rendijas cuando no existían los móviles y la factura de teléfono era prohibitiva para la gente corriente...

Con la llegada de la digitalización es un objeto que va cayendo en desuso, pero algunos valientes como este todavía sobreviven. Mucho me temo que tarde o temprano asistiré al momento de su desaparición.

Otro mural de arte urbano, un poco extraño por la mezcla de personaje y atuendo.

Y termino con esta maravilla. El Escarabajo es uno de mis modelos de automóvil favoritos. Sigo prefiriendo el original, la verdad, pero añadiéndole las comodidades de su versión moderna. Al menos cumplí mi sueño de montar en uno.

Con esto llegamos al final del mundo amarillo que he capturado a mi alrededor.

The Photo-essay community continues with its colour-themed competitions and this week we are turning to yellow and the hashtag #yellow-essay. You only need 5 photos and 150 words to describe them, nothing more.

Just in case, here is the link to this week's call for entries. This post is my participation and I invite you to join in and share with us your own photos.

Yellow conveys warmth, it could be said to represent summer weather, soon to arrive in the northern hemisphere. Yellow is the sun that lights up the life of our planet, the sands of the desert and the pollen of flowers.

Speaking of flowers, the cover photo is of maple trees and the image was taken this very morning. But there are more yellow flowers I can show you and they all grow around my house.

Although it looks like a sunflower, it is the arnica.

This is where the sweet chicory grows.

And this beauty is known as the virgin's slippers.

Before leaving the vegetable kingdom, let's have a baby apple, hehe. As the tree is in a nearby park, I'm afraid it won't grow into a full-grown apple.

As I guess you are not very knowledgeable about the size of apple leaves, to give you an idea, it was about 4 centimetres in diameter.

Did you think you were going to escape the balloons? You don't know me very well! Although I'm starting to run out of stock, hahaha.

What colour are the traffic lights where you live? In Zaragoza they are yellow! Legend has it that they chose this colour so that they would stand out more and drivers would see them... I don't know if it would have prevented many accidents, but just one would have been worth it, don't you think?

When I go into radar detector mode I find anything related to my search everywhere. If the traffic light theory is correct, I can better understand why this lift button in the block of flats is yellow.

If you remember the 80s, this cute little face will look more than familiar. It's one of the first international merchandising objects I registered in my memory.

If you're younger and can't remember, just know that emojis are a blatant copy and existed before the internet!

In Spain, post boxes are yellow and round. The number of letters I have slipped through those slits when there were no mobile phones and the phone bill was prohibitive for ordinary people...

With the advent of digitalisation it is an object that is falling into disuse, but some brave ones like this one still survive. I fear that sooner or later I will witness the moment of its demise.

Another urban art mural, a bit strange because of the mix of character and attire.

And I end with this marvel. The Beetle is one of my favourite car models. I still prefer the original, to be honest, but with the added comfort of the modern version. At least I fulfilled my dream of riding in one.

This brings us to the end of the yellow world I have captured around me.
