Hola querido hiver.
Cuatro años después de la primera vez que lo visité, esta primavera regresé al Festival Zaragoza Florece. La esencia permanece: exposiciones florales, mercado floral y artesanal, demostraciones en vivo, foodtrucks, zonas de descanso amenizadas con música... actividades para todas las edades y gustos. Es imposible salir de allí sin que algo te haya hecho disfrutar.
En este post comparto las fotografías que hice durante un largo paseo por todas las instalaciones para que te hagas una idea general de lo que había. El Parque Grande José Antonio Labordeta es bonito en cualquier época del año, pero si a eso le añades lo que hoy te muestro el efecto se multiplica.
Accediendo al parque por la entrada principal encontré el logo del festival realizado con letras gigantes llenas de flores y plantas. En cuanto pasé de largo la vista se me fue hacia la estatua de Alfonso I que corona esta extensión verde de la ciudad. A sus pies aparecía un color rosado que no correspondía con su imagen habitual. Me encaminé hacia allí para averiguar de qué se trataba. No fue un paseo directo, puesto que tuve que atravesar el mercado de las flores.
A los pies de la escalinata del Batallador me encontré bajo un espectáculo de color. Miles de flores colgaban de delicados tallos de bambú, ubicadas una a una en pequeños depósitos de cristal que las mantenían frescas. El efecto del conjunto era una especie de lluvia rosada que por la noche se iluminaba y debió de ser una imagen ensoñadora.
El tren que recorre el parque tampoco se quiso perder la fiesta y estaba adornado como merecía la ocasión. Así me encontré también a la estatua de Neptuno, que parecía emerger de un mar florido y lleno de color. Aquí me detuve un buen rato, aprovechando que en la parte trasera no había nadie. Pude practicar retratando detalles que tendrán su publicación aparte.
Esta instalación me fascinó. Lo malo es que no fui la única. Necesité grandes dosis de paciencia para esperar a que no hubiera nadie posando junto al pozo. Pero al final obtuve mi recompensa y logré este par de instantáneas.
En diversos puntos había mapas para saber en qué lugares encontrar las exposiciones y junto a cada una de ellas había paneles informativos en los que aparecían sus autores y significados. Gracias a ellos no me perdí ninguna de las instalaciones, algo que sí me ocurrió la ocasión anterior.
El Monumento a la Exposición Hispano-Francesa lucía unas espectaculares cascadas de rosas rojas. El fondo de papel de aluminio brillaba a esa hora cercana al mediodía, obteniendo un efecto de gran luminosidad. La plaza que se abre junto al monumento contaba con casetas en las que adquirir vinos de las bodegas de la región y en un césped cercano se habilitaban asientos para paladearlos a la fresca mientras se escuchaba música.
Proseguí mi recorrido por el Paseo de los Bearneses. Aquí, en los puentes que cruzan la acequia paralela, varias instalaciones con la pintura como temática eran los principales puntos de interés.
Esa era la mañana de la inauguración del festival y pasé junto al acto de apertura donde la alcaldesa daba su discurso. Ese era el motivo por el cual encontré un par de policías que vigilaban el acto a caballo. Como no podía ser de otra forma, los animales eran el centro de atención de los niños. Los agentes fueron amables y les dejaron tocarlos y fotografiarse junto a ellos.
De regreso al Paseo San Sebastián y paralelo al Mercado de las Flores estaba el área dedicada a la gastronomía en forma de foodtrucks para todos los gustos. Lo que antes era sinónimo de hamburguesas, perritos calientes y patatas fritas en esta ocasión se complementaba con comida italiana, mexicana, oriental y regional.
En la zona junto al Kiosco de la Música podías sentarte tranquilamente a degustar la comida de las foodtrucks o directamente pasar a tomar unas copas al ritmo de la música en vivo o pinchada por Djs, casi todos locales. La barra del paseo era enorme, conté hasta ¡14 grifos de cerveza!
Por último, en las vallas que rodean el kiosco de la música encontré la última exposición floral, elaborada por alumnos de un instituo de la ciudad y que se inspiraba en Alicia en el país de las maravillas. Me pareció un cierre perfecto para este paseo que deleitó todos mis sentidos.

Four years after my first visit, I returned to the Zaragoza Florece Festival this spring. The essence remains the same: floral displays, the flower and craft market, live demonstrations, foodtrucks, relaxation areas with music… activities for all ages and tastes. It’s impossible to leave without having enjoyed something.
In this post, I’m sharing the photos I took during a long stroll around the whole venue to give you a general idea of what was on offer. The Parque Grande José Antonio Labordeta is lovely at any time of year, but if you add what I’m showing you today to that, the effect is multiplied.
Entering the park through the main gate, I spotted the festival logo made up of giant letters filled with flowers and plants. As soon as I walked past, my gaze was drawn to the statue of Alfonso I, which stands at the heart of this green space in the city. At its feet was a pink hue that didn’t quite match its usual appearance. I made my way over there to find out what it was all about. It wasn’t a straight walk, as I had to go through the flower market.
At the foot of the Batallador steps, I found myself surrounded by a spectacular display of colour. Thousands of flowers hung from delicate bamboo stems, each placed individually in small glass containers that kept them fresh. The overall effect was a sort of pink rain that lit up at night and must have been a dreamlike sight.
The train that runs through the park didn’t want to miss out on the festivities either and was decorated as the occasion deserved. I also came across the statue of Neptune, which seemed to emerge from a sea of flowers, full of colour. I stopped here for quite a while, making the most of the fact that there was no one behind me. I was able to practise photographing details that will be published separately.
I was fascinated by this installation. The downside was that I wasn’t the only one. It took a great deal of patience to wait until there was no one posing by the well. But in the end, my patience paid off and I managed to snap these couple of shots.
At various points there were maps showing where to find the exhibitions, and next to each one there were information panels listing the artists and explaining the works’ meanings. Thanks to these, I didn’t miss any of the installations – something that did happen to me on my previous visit.
The Monument to the Spanish-French Exhibition was adorned with spectacular cascades of red roses. The aluminium foil backdrop glistened at that time of day, close to midday, creating a brilliantly luminous effect. The square next to the monument featured stalls where visitors could buy wines from local wineries, and seating had been set up on a nearby lawn so that people could savour them in the cool air whilst listening to music.
I continued my walk along the Paseo de los Bearneses. Here, on the bridges crossing the parallel irrigation channel, several installations with a painting theme were the main points of interest.
It was the morning of the festival’s opening day, and I happened to pass by the opening ceremony where the mayor was giving her speech. That was why I came across a couple of police officers on horseback keeping watch over the event. Unsurprisingly, the animals were the centre of attention for the children. The officers were kind and let them touch the horses and have their photos taken with them.
Back on Paseo San Sebastián, running alongside the Flower Market, was the area dedicated to food, featuring food trucks to suit all tastes. What used to be synonymous with burgers, hot dogs and chips was, on this occasion, complemented by Italian, Mexican, Asian and regional cuisine.
In the area next to the Bandstand, you could sit back and enjoy a meal from the food trucks, or simply pop in for a few drinks whilst listening to live music or sets by DJs, almost all of whom were local. The bar on the promenade was huge – I counted as many as 14 beer taps!
Finally, on the fences surrounding the bandstand, I came across the latest floral display, created by pupils from a local secondary school and inspired by Alice in Wonderland. It seemed to me the perfect way to round off this stroll, which had delighted all my senses.

I feel so hot following you around the festival🥵 but it looked great. I bet the organisers were glad they didn't arrange it for this week
It's been a month since this walk, May 21. It was hot but it wasn't excessive, in the shaded areas it was perfect. This week the flowers would end up dry in one day. 🔥

Ay, ¿por dónde empiezo a responder? Antes de nada, una de las ventajas de Hive es que el contenido sigue aquí a disposición de cuando cada uno puede y quiere. Créeme que se nota mucho la mala época que estáis pasando los cubanos con los cortes de electricidad. Cundís por todas partes, jeje, y cuando no podéis conectaros como os gustaría se siente ese silencio por todo Hive. Por encima de todo lo importante es que estés bien.
En el par de horas largas que estuve dando este paseo la música solamente estuvo presente en la zona de los vinos, y la verdad no recuerdo cuál era pero sí que era suave, de esa tipo chill out. Por la noche es cuando hay más jaleo y ahí no me pillan. 🤭

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new
But what they are doing is bad Very badi joined steemit like everyone else thinking it offers freedom but I must say steemit offered much more freedom than Hive does
Everyone already knows I only post my own original content I have no need to steal anything from anyone
I've been labelled a lot of things on Hive 😂 by the biggest farmers scammers and downvoters

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new

Out of curiosity I have looked at the hours of the photos and I was almost two. Of course, it was a non-stop shooting because everything was beautiful. There will still be a couple more publications, although the most spectacular is without a doubt this one. I left there with Stendhal's syndrome. 😂
My favourite installation was the cloud on the well, it was a fairy tale scene. 🧚

¡ ¡ Wow, Wow y más Wow !! Que belleza de lugar 😍, los arreglos artísticos que hicieron son obras de arte florales. Al final decís que una obra se inspiró en Alicia en el país de las maravillas, pero yo creo que todo el lugar se ve así.
Las flores colgando son una preciosura parecen de cuento de hadas 😍, Neptuno con los peces voladores, la fuente con flores de color lila 😍 se ven mágicos. Creo que estar allí se debe sentir realmente como ser Alicia en el país de la maravillas.
También parece una fusión de los jardines de Versalles con Disney jejeje, el trencito le da ese toque a Disney. Tranquilamente se podría hacer un collage con la primer foto y Luis XIV o XV paseando por ahí 😅
El clima acompañó, ese cielo azul y despejado hace que se vea de ensueño y creo que la versión nocturna con luces debe ser otro espectáculo maravilloso.
Me dio gracia el cartel que dice "Muestras NO comestibles" 😂, supongo que alguna vez la gente levantó para comer sin éxito quedándose con las ganas de la muestra gratis jeje.
Me encantó y disfruté el paseo, aunque sea por fotos jeje 👏👏 gracias por compartir tan linda experiencia. Realmente una belleza 😍
No había pensado esa fusión con Disney, llevas razón. Este festival es de los pocos eventos que se organizan en la ciudad al que me apetece acudir cuando el clima lo permite. Este año era perfecto para pasear y disfrutar de los colores, formas y olores de las flores. El problema era parar de disparar con la cámara y ahora otro problema para dejar fotos fuera del post. 😂
Es tal como dices, arte, y así es tratado en este festival. Para otro año quiero verlo por la noche para apreciar el cambio, no sabía que las iluminaban y por lo que he visto es espectacular.
Sí, el cartel avisando de que las muestras no son comestibles está ahí por eso mismo… jaja. Me imagino que si alguno llega con demasiadas prisas y hambre se dejará un diente ahí. 🤣🤣

The place is really beautiful and your photos have multiplied the effects many times over as you said. Everything is beautiful in these photographs whether it is 'Pink Rain', 'The Train', 'The flower dressings around the statue of Neptune', or any of the other 'Installation'. I really enjoyed these visual beauties through your photographs. This must have been felt like a dream environment being physically there. Floral display are quite excellent considering they were created by secondary school students, real creativity - Bravo to them.
The park is very beautiful at any time but when they add the flower compositions it is as you say, it seems that you enter the stage of a story. 🥰
