Hola querido hiver.
En la publicación de hoy visitamos un rincón peculiar. El día que estuve en el castillo de Anento y su mirador, mi objetivo principal era llegar al lugar que te presento en este post. El conocido como Aguallueve de Anento es una pequeña cascada que cae por una ladera de piedra caliza cubierta de vegetación, lo que provoca que parezca una cortina de lluvia continua.
El acceso hasta el Aguallueve se realiza por un sendero circular que parte desde la oficina de turismo de la localidad y está bien indicado. El trazado total tiene una longitud de unos dos kilómetros y salvo un pequeño tramo el desnivel es casi inexistente, por lo que es una excursión perfecta para hacer con niños.
En el primer tramo, conforme nos alejamos del pueblo, el paisaje a ras de suelo está formado por parcelas de labranza, pero si alzamos la vista se obtienen unas vistas estupendas del casco urbano con el promontorio del castillo.
Como este paseo fue a finales de abril ya se veían algunas flores. La de color amarillo es de celidonia mayor, que era usada para tratar las verrugas. La de color púrpura es mejor no tocarla, pues la planta es ortiga roja.
El único árbol frutal que reconocí fue un peral que estaba precioso por encontrarse en plena floración. Seguimos caminando y en apenas unos metros nos sumergimos en un frondoso bosque compuesto por árboles cuyos troncos se cubren de hiedra. Casi todos son olmos que seguían desnudos y en los que se veía que empezaban a despuntar las primeras yemas.
Tras unos veinte minutos, dependiendo de las paradas que se hagan, los árboles desaparecen y a nuestra izquierda se abre un espacio en el que destaca el color del agua de una pequeña balsa. Esta recoge el agua que cae por el aguallueve, que es el rincón oscuro que se ve en el fondo de las fotos de arriba.
Las paredes calizas están recubiertas por un tipo de helecho llamado culantrillo de pozo. Cuando estuve allí había una mezcla curiosa entre los helechos secos y los que estaban vivos, lo que aportaba un colorido especial.
El musgo provoca que el agua caiga en pequeños chorros que en invierno se congelan y forman unos carámbanos espectaculares.
En este punto hice un pequeño vídeo para que puedas escuchar el hipnótico sonido del agua:
Crucé la pasarela de piedra para acercarme un poco al agua de la balsa y emprendimos el camino de regreso al pueblo. Hay que subir un tramo de escalones que llegan hasta los pinos.
Esta parte del camino recibe el sol por la mañana, por lo que apuramos el paso para evitar el calor. Sin embargo, por el camino tuve que parar al ver esos fósiles tallados en una roca. Los niños estarán encantados de encontrarse con estas réplicas de ammonites y trilobites, tallados por el escultor local Jesús Sanz. Al lado de ellos si se presta atención sí que se pueden ver restos auténticos de lo que parecen algas marinas.
Continuamos por el sendero hacia el pueblo, aquí puedes apreciar lo diferente que es la luz respecto a la primera parte, mucho más sombría.
Desde esta última parte del camino, ya cuando alcanzamos la muralla que lo rodea, se aprecian las cuevas que quedan bajo el mirador del castillo. ¿Quién pondría ahí esa silla? En fin, descansemos un poco, que nos lo hemos ganado. ¿No te parece?

In today’s post, we’re visiting a rather unusual spot. On the day I visited Anento Castle and its viewpoint, my main aim was to reach the spot I’m showing you in this post. Known as Aguallueve de Anento, it is a small waterfall cascading down a limestone slope covered in vegetation, making it look like a curtain of continuous rain.
Access to Aguallueve is via a circular footpath that starts at the local tourist office and is well signposted. The entire route is about two kilometres long and, apart from a short section, there is almost no elevation gain, making it a perfect walk to do with children.
On the first section, as you head away from the village, the landscape at ground level consists of farmland, but if you look up, you’ll be treated to wonderful views of the village centre with the castle hill in the background.
As this walk took place in late April, some flowers were already in bloom. The yellow one is greater celandine, which was used to treat warts. It’s best not to touch the purple one, as the plant is red nettle.
The only fruit tree I recognised was a pear tree, which looked absolutely lovely as it was in full bloom. We carried on walking and, after just a few metres, found ourselves in a lush forest of trees whose trunks were covered in ivy. Almost all of them were elm trees, which were still bare, though you could see the first buds beginning to emerge.
After about twenty minutes, depending on how many stops you make, the trees disappear and, to our left, a clearing opens up where the colour of the water in a small pool stands out. This pool collects the water that falls through the ‘aguallueve’, which is the dark corner visible at the bottom of the photos above.
The limestone walls are covered with a type of fern called well-fern. When I was there, there was an interesting mix of dry ferns and living ones, which gave the place a special colour.
The moss causes the water to fall in small jets which freeze in winter and form spectacular icicles.
At this point, I made a short video so you can hear the hypnotic sound of the water:
I crossed the stone footbridge to get a little closer to the water in the lake, and we set off back towards the village. You have to climb a flight of steps that lead up to the pine trees.
This part of the path gets the morning sun, so we quickened our pace to avoid the heat. However, I had to stop along the way when I saw these fossils carved into a rock. Children will be delighted to come across these replicas of ammonites and trilobites, carved by the local sculptor Jesús Sanz. Next to them, if you look closely, you can actually see genuine remains of what appear to be seaweed.
We continue along the path towards the village; here you can see how different the light is compared to the first section with much more sombre.
From this final stretch of the path, once we reach the wall that surrounds it, you can see the caves lying beneath the castle’s viewing point. Who on earth would put that chair there? Anyway, let’s have a bit of a rest. We’ve earned it. Don’t you think?

Sí, es un camino que no tiene ninguna dificultad para quienes vayan con peques. Además es muy corta, nosotros la hicimos en poco más de una hora y fuimos tranquilos y parando para hacer las fotos.
Las ortigas me picaron más de una vez cuando era pequeña, jajaja, es lo que tiene que fuera tan curiosa y por ir tocándolo todo. 😅 No es grave si no tienes alergia pero es muy molesto, sí.
El rincón de la cascada es muy bonito, lo que más me sorprendió fue el tono del azul de la balsa y lo limpia que estaba el agua.
