Hello friends of Hive, today I share with you a picture about my day of rest in Altamira de Cáceres, a small and enigmatic place that I'm sure you will love.
My goal was not to visit the town as such, since I have known it for quite some time, but one of its natural places called the "chorrerones". Altamira de Caceres is known for being a colonial style Andean town, but make no mistake, it is not in Merida, it is in Barinas.

Barinas has the particularity that it is the gateway to the Andes and although it is generally plains, an important part of its relief is influenced by the Andean Cordillera, making these towns called Andean foothills.
Therefore we will find towns with colder environments, large mountains and waterfalls typical of the mountain relief.
Altamira de Cáceres is an emblematic town since that is where Barinas was founded, with time the capital that was Altamira became Barinitas and then settled in Barinas capital where we know it today. That is why historians refer to Barinas as the traveling city.

Very close to the town we find some wells and streams of mountain water, which are characterized by being quite fresh water. The intramontane riverbeds are characterized by their large rocks, the unevenness in the relief shows the powerful riverbeds of centuries ago, which are now small or medium-sized riverbeds.

In this part that we visited the soil is generally flagstone, stone washed over the years by the water, with a smooth surface shaped by the riverbed. On the sides there is thick vegetation. Arriving at the place we found a small waterfall and water, and at the base a natural pool of very fresh and crystal clear water.
I hope you enjoyed the trip with me.
