Unmasking The Warlord Threat.

I returned to Fuladh at the Sharqiyah bureau in Baghdad. After reviewing clues regarding General Jasoor and Al-Mardikhwar, they identified the warlord Wasif as the target. I then met Ali on a rooftop to plan our infiltration into the Great Garrison to free Beshi and eliminate Wasif.

I needed to return to Fuladh at one of our main bases of operations in Baghdad, located at the Sharqiyah bureau. I fast-traveled to the closest viewpoint near the hidden bureau. From that high point, I executed a smooth leap of faith to get down to the ground level and enter the bureau.

Upon reaching Fuladh, I found him standing alongside Ali. Fuladh suggested that they should hear the report from Basim first. Basim mentioned that General Jasoor and Al-Nadir were dead. Fuladh then asked if Basim had uncovered anything to help identify Al-Mardikhwar.

Basim replied with a negative result at first, but explained the remaining clues. He noted that General Jasoor was supposed to meet them but failed to show up, while Al-Nadir was questioned about missing supply shipments intended for the Turkic military. Al-Mardikhwar was clearly not pleased with these developments.

Fuladh quickly understood that Al-Mardikhwar was stationed at the Great Garrison, overseeing supplies for the Turkic mercenaries. There was only one officer of sufficient rank who fit that description, warlord Wasif al-Turki. Ali agreed that this connection made total sense, noting that a few others could have been involved as well.

Ali brought up the fact that Beshi had never returned, leading him to assume that Beshi had been captured. Fuladh added that if they held Beshi, he would likely be locked inside the garrison. Ali was ready to storm the area immediately, but Fuladh cautioned that they needed Basim to handle it quietly to avoid starting an all-out war they were not prepared for.

Fuladh instructed Basim to enter the Great Garrison and eliminate the target, emphasizing that the safety of Alamut depended on this mission. With all clues gathered, I knew Al-Mardikhwar was indeed the warlord Wasif al-Turki. I realized I needed to speak to Ali one last time before making my move toward the garrison.

After stepping out of the bureau, I started running across the city to meet up with Ali. I found him waiting for me on a rooftop located right near the perimeter of the garrison. From that vantage point, Ali pointed out some key figures below.

Wasif and Muhammad were standing together, arguing heatedly over orders. Wasif shouted that he would not suffer such insults twice.

Ali explained that the governor of Baghdad, Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Tahir, had given Wasif an order that the warlord clearly despised. The governor held no real authority over the warlord unless he was also affiliated with the Order.

However, Ali doubted Muhammad was part of the Order, describing him as a poet and a man of spirit rather than a tyrant.

Basim expressed hope that Ali was right, knowing that dealing with Wasif alone would be difficult enough. The immediate challenge was finding a clear way inside the garrison

Ali mentioned that one of the stewards inside was loyal to him and could be found near the cookhouse beside the red sash, ready to render aid.

Ali planned to locate Beshi and free the other rebels held in the prison, leaving Wasif entirely to Basim.

Basim gave a speech about the warlord, declaring that their combined effort would end his reign of terror. With the plan set to storm the garrison and rescue Beshi, my main objective was to infiltrate the Great Garrison and assassinate Al-Mardikhwar.

Until next time, happy gaming.

The leap of faith from the viewpoint was a nice opening to the post. I liked how you combined the beautiful Baghdad scenery with the story.

That rooftop meeting with Ali looked like the perfect setup for a major assassination mission. Once they started talking about the garrison, I knew this was not going to be a simple infiltration.

The fact that Beshi was probably being held inside made the mission feel like more than just another assassination. Basim had to get the target and hopefully help everyone trapped inside too.

I was surprised that Fuladh connected with Wasif after hearing about the supply shipments. That small clue turned out to be much more important.
