Infiltrating the Perfume Quarters.

I took on a contract in Baghdad to investigate a perfume trader suspected of betraying local merchants. With my bird Enkidu blocked by a marksman, I infiltrated the heavily guarded quarters alone, quietly eliminating archers along the rooftops.

A local perfume trader came under heavy suspicion of betraying the merchants, and I needed to steal concrete evidence of his treachery. To gather what I required, I had to investigate his quarters as part of an official contract in Baghdad.

As I drew close to the heavily guarded compound, I decided my best option was to infiltrate the area quietly from the rooftops.

Before stepping into the compound, I attempted to call Enkidu to scout the layout from above. Unfortunately, a sharp marksman stationed on the upper level spotted my bird immediately and spooked her away.

Without Enkidu's eyes in the sky, I was forced to press forward into enemy territory entirely on my own.

I moved carefully along the high walls and spotted an archer patrolling the upper walkway. I quickly took cover behind a stack of wooden crates and waited for him to close the distance.

The moment he stepped into range, I extended my hidden blade and assassinated him without making a sound. Knowing his body might raise an alarm, I threw it off the edge of the wall so the other guards on duty wouldn't spot it.

With the first guard dealt with, I turned my attention toward a second archer stationed on a nearby section of the roof. I crept up behind him using the same stealthy approach and dispatched him silently with my blade.

Since his position was well hidden from the ground level below, I left his body where it fell and moved on to my next target.

Another archer was stationed on a adjacent rooftop overlooking the main courtyard. I crouched behind a pile of crates, waiting for him to walk past my position. I wanted to avoid drawing the attention of another watchman stationed nearby.

But the archer caught a glimpse of me just as I moved. Realizing stealth was compromised, I lunged forward into close combat and struck him down before he had a chance to raise the alarm or escape.

Because I was spotted, I knew I had failed the contractor's secondary request to remain entirely undetected, which meant I would likely lose out on a portion of my total reward.

Despite the setback, I pressed forward to clear out the remaining guards on the roof. I targeted two more archers posted nearby, including the marksman who had previously kept Enkidu at bay.

I navigated along the ledge, waiting for the right moment to strike. The archer glanced in my direction, forcing me to drop down slightly along the outer wall to remain out of sight.

Once his attention drifted away, I climbed back up, caught him off guard, and eliminated him from another ledge of the roof.

With that ledge clear, I moved directly for the marksman who had restricted Enkidu's movement earlier. I eliminated him quickly, reopening the skies so Enkidu could safely fly above the quarters once again.

As I surveyed the area from above, I noticed a guard on the ground level below who had just spotted the fallen body of the archer I dropped earlier. To prevent him from raising a full alarm across the compound, I leaped off the rooftop and executed a clean air assassination straight onto him.

A local civilian nearby happened to witness the attack and panicked, running off to call for help. I quickly dragged the fallen guards' bodies out of plain sight and hid them inside that grasses.

Until next time, happy gaming.

That marksman really caused trouble by blocking Enkidu. Taking him out and finally freeing the skies felt very satisfying.

Yeah, Enkidu is needed in such territories. So, I target them first.

I liked how you used the rooftops and crates to isolate the archers one by one. Keeping the whole compound under control without starting a massive fight was a nice strategy.

That's how an assassins should work, right?
