Chorthippus brunneus: Little Guest in the Silent Night

One quiet night, as the lamplight illuminated the white floor of my house, I was startled by the presence of an unexpected little visitor. A brown grasshopper, with a slender body and tall antennae, sat silently in a corner of the floor. It seemed serene, as if contemplating in the lamplight.

I approached slowly, trying not to disturb it. Carefully, I raised my phone camera and captured this rare moment. The flash of light captured the details of its body wings tightly covering its back, strong hind legs ready to leap at any moment, and small, alert black eyes.

I don't know where it came from, perhaps it had strayed from the grass outside. But its presence that night seemed to carry a message from nature about stillness, resilience, and the small beauties we often overlook. After a few minutes, it hopped away, leaving a deep impression on my memory… and a snapshot that has now become a memory.
