Under the bridge - monomad challenge

While I was waiting for my friend to finish his job interview in the nearby industrial zone, I decided to take a stroll across the iron bridge. As I looked out, I noticed a guy in a rubber boat battling against the strong current in the swollen river. It got me thinking: What made him decide to venture out on the water in these conditions without any fishing rods? There are two explanations: one is to have some fun and adventure, and the other is to test his old, many-times-patched rubber boat.

Either way, I'm sure he had a great time!
