The Diego Ibarra Square is located in the center of the city of Caracas. At one time, this square was a very beautiful architectural work, adorned with three fountains.

However, the square fell into neglect, then it was taken over by the informal commerce, which destroyed its treasures.

Later, some repairs were made to the square by the municipal government and the Mayor's Office of Libertador, but although the space was recovered, the Plaza Diego Ibarra was left in the open air, with only a fountain on its west side.

Since its large open space in the heart of downtown Caracas, has about eighteen thousand square meters, according to what I read, it is being used for public shows, Christmas fairs, school fairs and other activities for the general public by the national and municipal government.

Likewise, in the Plaza Diego Ibarra, different concerts and cultural activities have been presented for the enjoyment of the people of Caracas.

This square gives access to the Electoral Power, whose headquarters is adjacent to the square on its west side, next to the Torres del Silencio, in which several ministries operate, the northwest side of the square, gives access to the administrative building of the National Assembly, on its east side, gives access to the Palace of Justice, seat of the courts and on its southeast side the building of the Ministry of Popular Power for Indigenous Peoples, finally on its southwest side, has access and a beautiful view of the Basilica of Santa Teresa, whose structure was named a National Historic Monument in 1959.

La plaza Diego Ibarra, está en pleno centro de la ciudad de Caracas, en su momento, esta plaza fue una obra de arquitectura muy bonita, adornada con tres fuentes.

Sin embargo, la plaza cayó en el descuido, después fue tomada por el comercio informal, el cual destruyó sus bienhechurías.

Posteriormente, se hicieron algunos arreglos a la plaza por parte del gobierno municipal y la Alcaldía de Libertador, pero aunque se recuperó el espacio, se dejó el espacio de la Plaza Diego Ibarra, al aire abierto, solamente con una fuente en su lado oeste.

Ya que su gran espacio abierto en pleno centro caraqueño, tiene cerca de dieciocho mil metros cuadrados, según leí, se está utilizando para la realización de espectáculos públicos, ferias navideñas, escolares y otras actividades, para el público en general por parte del gobierno nacional y municipal.

Así mismo, en la Plaza Diego Ibarra, se han presentado diferentes conciertos y actividades culturales, para el disfrute del pueblo caraqueño.
Esta plaza da acceso al Poder Electoral, cuya sede es adyacente a la plaza en su lado oeste, junto a las Torres del Silencio, en la cual funcionan varios ministerios, la parte noroeste de la plaza, da acceso al edificio administrativo de la Asamblea Nacional, en su lado este, da acceso al Palacio de Justicia, sede de los tribunales y en su lado sureste el edificio del Ministerio del Poder Popular para los Pueblos indígenas, finalmente en su lado suroeste, tiene acceso y una hermosa vista de la Basílica de Santa Teresa, cuya estructura fue nombrada en 1959 Monumento Histórico Nacional.
