A Walk through the Neighborhood Park // Un Paseo por el Parque del vecindario

Hello Wednesday friends, how many times have you passed by the same place and suddenly one day you are surprised to discover things that you had overlooked and that were worth contemplating and enjoying. And it is that the hectic day to day we live, between work, family and so many problems to solve, makes us miss small details that give color to our lives.

Today I want to tell you about a park near my neighborhood, where I walk to work, this time I stopped for a while and sat down to enjoy the breeze and the environment.

I was happy to see young people playing soccer, a competition was taking place between two teams from different localities, the joy of young people is always contagious, they really need a proper space to play soccer but right now we have no facilities available and playing in the street is more problematic.

This park has history in the locality, it is called the park of the horseshoe by the form that has, and it is a space that has been used to make political and cultural acts.

The park has a small square that serves as a stage for different performances of theatrical or musical groups, and has also been used as a grandstand for events.

One of the attractions of this park are its gigantic trees that provide shade which shelters walkers from the sun and invites them to sit like me.

In this park in the mornings the older adults do physical exercises, there is a group that practices Tai chi, also the younger people practice aerobic exercises.

During these days a lot of community work has been done in the area, removing weeds and repairing and painting the benches. The change is really noticeable as the park looks very nice.

My walk this week was very simple but greatly rewarding, enjoying nature, young people playing and remembering old times made me regain my strength.

Hola amigos de miércoles, cuántas veces han pasado por el mismo lugar y de pronto un día te sorprendes descubriendo cosas que habías pasado por alto y que valían la pena contemplar y disfrutar. Y es que el día a día agitado que vivimos, entre trabajo, la familia y los tantos problemas a resolver, hace que se nos escapen pequeños detalles que le dan color a nuestra vida.

Hoy quiero hablarles de un parque cercano a mi vecindario, por el cual paso caminando para ir a mi trabajo, en esta ocasión me detuve un rato y me senté a disfrutar de la briza y del entorno.

Me alegró ver a los jóvenes jugar futbol, estaba efectuándose una competencia entre dos equipos de diferentes localidades, la alegría de los jóvenes siempre contagia, realmente necesitan de un espacio apropiado para jugar futbol pero en este momento no tenemos instalaciones disponibles y jugar en la calle es más problemático.
Este parque tiene historia en la localidad, le llaman el parque de la herradura por la forma que tiene, y es un espacio que se ha utilizado para hacer actos políticos y culturales.

El parque cuenta de una plazoleta que sirve de escenario para las diferentes actuaciones de grupos de teatros o musicales, también la han utilizado de tribuna para los actos.

Uno delos atractivos de este parque son sus árboles gigantescos que proporcionan sombra la cual cobija a los caminantes del sol y los invita a sentarse como a mí.

En este parque por las mañanas los adultos mayores realizan ejercicios físicos, hay un grupo que práctica Tai chi, también las personas más jóvenes practican ejercicios aeróbicos.

En estos días se ha realizado un trabajo comunitario bastante fuerte en la zona, quitando las malas hierbas y reparando y pintando los bancos. De verdad que se nota el cambio pues el parque se ve muy bonito.

Mi paseo esta semana fue muy sencillo pero grandemente gratificante, disfrutar de la naturaleza, los jóvenes jugar y recordar viejos tiempos me hizo recobrar fuerzas.
