Hola amigos, gusto en saludarlos! Hoy les quiero hablar de un viaje que hice al Parque Nacional Morrocoy en Falcon – Venezuela. Este Parque se caracteriza no solo por poseer hermosas playas, sino también por albergar Reservas Naturales dentro de él, estás cuentan con gran variabilidad de especies y ecosistemas las cuales son poco conocidas.
Llegamos hasta el malecón de Chichiriviche, pueblo turístico y costero desde donde salen las lanchas a los diferentes cayos (islas), nosotros no embarcamos en la ruta llamada “Las Cuevas” esta ruta nos llevaría a una zona del parque poco visitada conocida como la Reserva Natural de Cuare, pasando por varios destinos y culminando en algunas de las islas cercanas al pueblo.*
El primer punto seria conocer los restos de un Barco Hundido llamado "La Gaviota". Una encarnación a vapor (piróscafo), que con los años se ha ido borrando las huellas físicas de lo que alguna vez fue su casco superficial, debido a que el salitre del mar se lo ha comido casi en su totalidad.
En el paseo, los peñero y pescadores que sirven de guías, relatan diversas historias del barco. Desde que fue un barco atacado en la segunda guerra mundial hasta que era un barco de contrabandistas lo abandonaron ahí cuando se averió; Pero la verdad, es que esté era un barco que transportaba cemento y trabajaba para la fábrica de cemento que existía en el pueblo de Chichiriviche y al dañarse fue abandonado.
Otra historia que nos contaron y para mí una de las más emocionantes y un poco intimidante, es que en esos restos habita un gigantesco Caimán de la Costa (Crocodylus acutus), siendo esto muy probable debido a que esta zona es uno de los lugares en Venezuela donde se les puede observar y es una de las razones de porque existe está reserva natural, precisamente para protegerlos.
El siguiente punto en nuestro recorrido era atravesar un canal cerrado de manglares, en forma de Tunel (a este lugar no le pude tomar fotos). Se dice que es muy visitados por parejas, ya que es muy tranquilo para dar un paseo romántico con esa persona especial, es por eso que las personas del pueblo lo llamaron “El Tunel del Amor”.
El Tercer Destino a Visitar es el que se le conoce como "La cueva del indio", llamada así por poseer petroglifos hechos por los antiguos indígenas que habitaron esta zona. Esta "cueva" es realmente un Cañón altísimo a cielo abierto y con una vegetación abundante; Según nos cuentan, éste no era un lugar de permanencia fijo para los indígenas sino que solían visitarlos solo para realizar ciertos rituales y actos ceremoniales; Creo que una de las cosas más llamativas de este lugar, sin duda son los petroglifos tallados en la pared coralina, los cuales evidencian la existencia de una civilización previa a la nuestra y que realmente resultan muy interesantes de ver y conocer.
El siguiente destino es conocido como “La Cueva de la Santísima Virgen” o también “Cueva de los Pescadores”, Se trata de un monumento natural dedicado a la Virgen María y es especialmente un sitio destinado por todos los visitantes devotos como santuario de peregrinación; En su interior propios y visitantes han ido colocando numerosas estatuillas e imágenes religiosas en sus paredes rocosas, logrando convertirlo en sitio de interés turístico a lo largo del tiempo.
Por supuesto en este recorrido tenía que haber Playa, por eso el último destino que nos quedaba era visitar una isla para disfrutar el resto del día y tomar un buen baño. Esta isla es conocida como “Cayo Muerto” y es bastante visitada por su belleza, variedad de servicios y lo cercano que es a chichiriviche.

This Park is characterized not only by having beautiful beaches, but also by hosting Nature Reserves within it, you are counting on great variability of species and ecosystems which are little known.
We reach the pier of Chichiriviche, tourist and coastal town from where the boats leave to the different keys (islands), we do not embark on the route called "Las Cuevas" this route would take us to a little visited area of the park known as the Natural Reserve of Cuare, passing through several destinations and culminating in some of the islands near the village.
The first point would be to know the remains of a Sunken Ship called "The Seagull". A vapor incarnation (pyrospheric), which over the years has erased the physical traces of what was once its superficial hull, because the saltpeter of the sea has eaten it almost entirely.*
On the tour, the peñero and fishermen who serve as guides, tell various stories of the boat. Since it was an attacked ship in World War II until it was a smuggler’s ship it was abandoned there when it broke down; But the truth is that this was a ship that transported cement and worked for the cement factory that existed in the town of Chichiriviche and when damaged was abandoned.
Another story that they told us and for me one of the most exciting and a little intimidating, is that in those remains lives a gigantic Cayman of the Coast (Crocodylus acutus), being this very likely because this area is one of the places in Venezuela where you can see them and is one of the reasons why there is this nature reserve, precisely to protect them.
The next point in our tour was to cross a closed mangrove channel, shaped like a Tunnel (I could not take pictures of this place). It is said to be very visited by couples, as it is very quiet to take a romantic walk with that special person, that is why the people of the village called it "The Tunnel of Love".
The Third Destination to Visit is the one known as "The cave of the Indian", named for having petroglyphs made by the ancient indigenous people who inhabited this area. This "cave" is really a very high Canyon with open air and abundant vegetation; As we are told, this was not a place of fixed permanence for the indigenous people but they used to visit them only to perform certain rituals and ceremonial acts; I think one of the most striking things about this place is undoubtedly the petroglyphs carved on the coral wall, which show the existence of a civilization prior to ours and which are really very interesting to see and know.
The next destination is known as "The Cave of the Blessed Virgin" or also "Cave of the Fishermen", It is a natural monument dedicated to the Virgin Mary and is especially a site intended by all devout visitors as a pilgrimage sanctuary; Inside its own and visitors have been placing numerous statuettes and religious images on its rocky walls, managing to turn it into a site of tourist interest over time.
Of course on this tour there had to be a beach, so the last destination we had was to visit an island to enjoy the rest of the day and take a good swim. This island is known as "Dead Key" and is quite visited for its beauty, variety of services and how close it is to chichiriviche.
