Asentado entre los linderos del Parque Nacional Dinira y justo a los pies de las Montañas Andinas Venezolanas, se encuentra uno de los pueblitos fríos del Estado Lara: ¡BARBACOAS!

Fundado en el año 1610, este Interesante y clásico pueblo agrícola ubicado a unos 1450 metros sobre el nivel del mar (msnm) aún conserva el encanto de las épocas pasadas: calles empedradas, coloridas casas de bahareque con techos de tejas y ventanas altas, lo convierte en uno de los principales atractivos de montaña Larense para los amantes de pueblitos coloniales.

Una de las obras arquitectónicas que más resalta de este lugar, es su iglesia principal, dedicada a San Felipe Apóstol y ubicada en la calle calvario justo al frente a la Plaza Bolívar del pueblo.

Founded in the year 1610, this interesting and classic agricultural town located about 1450 meters above sea level (masl) still retains the charm of the past: cobblestone streets, colorful adobe houses with tile roofs and tall windows, making it one of the main attractions of Larense mountain for lovers of colonial villages.

One of the architectural highlights of this place is its main church, dedicated to San Felipe Apostle and located on Calvario Street just in front of the town's Plaza Bolivar.

La construcción de este templo se realizó entre los años de 1.921 y 1.928, contando con características y estilos únicos, entre los que destacan el gótico y colonial; Sus paredes cuentan con bellos ornamentos y detalles, con tres naves y un campanario único en su estilo en América Latina.

Su cúpula es impresionante ya que termina en una corona, he visto iglesias con terminaciones en puntas, cruces y hasta con cachos, pero hasta ahora, ¡No había visto una torre coronada! 👑

Gracias a su privilegiada ubicación en la Sierra de Barbacoas y de su cercanía con la Cascada El Vino en el Parque Nacional Dinira, este pueblito se ha convirtiendo en los últimos años en un lugar muy turístico y visitado, por lo que algunas personas han ido restaurando y remodelando sus propiedades a fin de ofrecer algún tipo de servicio a los viajeros, creándose poco a poco una cultura turística dentro del pueblo; También existen posadas aledañas muy bien acondicionadas y que ofrecen diferentes paquetes a los viajeros que transitan por esta Sierra de Barbacoas.

Thanks to its privileged location in the Sierra de Barbacoas and its proximity to the El Vino waterfall in the Dinira National Park, this small town has become in recent years a very touristy and visited place, so some people have been restoring and remodeling their properties in order to offer some kind of service to travelers, gradually creating a tourist culture within the village; There are also very well equipped inns nearby that offer different packages to travelers passing through the Sierra de Barbacoas.

La Sierra de Barbacoas, representa una barrera natural importantísima para el estado Lara, no solo por su función Biológica, sino que además sirve como punto de acceso y comunicación entre los valles de Carache, Humocaro y el Tocuyo.

La vegetación arbórea media-baja de esta región, es hogar de cientos de aves, reptiles y otros animales pequeños; Por encima de los 1800 msnm, se encuentra una vegetación de tipo boscosa y que resulta en muchos tramos impenetrable, albergando gran variedad de especies, algunas de estas de gran tamaño y en peligro de extinción como el Oso frontino (Tremarctos ornatus).

The Sierra de Barbacoas, represents a very important natural barrier for the state of Lara, not only for its biological function, but also serves as an access and communication point between the valleys of Carache, Humocaro and Tocuyo.

The medium-low arboreal vegetation of this region, is home to hundreds of birds, reptiles and other small animals; Above 1800 meters above sea level, there is a forest-like vegetation and that is in many sections impenetrable, harboring a variety of species, some of these large and endangered as the Oso frontino (Tremarctos ornatus).

Hola @belkyscabrera !!! Pocos se conoce de este lugar que es hermoso, se escucha hablar más es de "La Cascada El Vino" que es uno de los principales destinos turísticos acá en Lara (Venezuela), de ese les hablare mas adelante, pero antes de llegar ahí se debe pasar por este hermoso pueblo.
