PhotoEdits @oscarps - Details of a day a week of processions
Each one of these images that I present to you today is the result of an intense week for me of works commissioned by many of the brotherhoods that have taken possession of my city, Cáceres in Spain. On this occasion I have had a lot of work collecting photographs and I have had to travel to different parts of the city for a few days. The streets were crowded with people who came out to see those Easter parades that are visualized by many of the streets of the town. The brotherhoods prepare almost all year round for this occasion and a strange mixture of mysticism, faith and religion floats in the air for these singular days, now past.
My job is merely to collect the best photographs that I can, many times under pressure, walking through the crowd and positioning myself for hours in some strategic places that I have already mastered from my experience on other occasions. I also wander and get through the long line of people who participate and I can contact some professional colleagues who are looking for exactly the same thing as me, the expected image.
Of course, the images that I select for my Hive blog are exclusive and they are chosen in a very special way among many of the ones that I collect and they are a clear example of the type of details that I want to show you. On this occasion, large images of steps, figures, Christ and virgins are usually seen, but I wanted to bring you something that was a bit different from this type of photography. I have seen many people collecting images with phones and cameras, so I selected these very special and different photos for my blog. The atmosphere that is breathed these days, regardless of religion or faith, is also part of this great tradition. I am only a mere spectator and I collect the specific moments and situations that I can observe and leave aside personal considerations, beliefs or motives of each one of us.

Cada una de estas imágenes que os presento hoy es el fruto de una intensa semana para mí de trabajos por encargo de muchas de las cofradías que han posesionado en mi ciudad, Cáceres en España. En esta ocasión he tenido bastante trabajo recogiendo fotografías y me he tenido que desplazar a distintos puntos de la ciudad por algunos días. Las calles estaban abarrotadas de gente que salen a ver esos pasos de Semana Santa que son visualizados por muchas de las calles de la villa. Las cofradías se preparan casi todo el año para esta ocasión y una extraña mezcla de misticismo, fe y religión flota en el ambiente por estos días singulares, ahora ya pasados.
Mi trabajo es meramente recoger las mejores fotografías que pueda muchas veces sometido a presiones, a caminar entre la multitud y a posicionarme por horas en algunos lugares estratégicos que ya domino por mi experiencia en otras ocasiones. También deambulo y me meto por medio de la larga fila de gentes que participan y puedo contactar con algunos colegas de profesión que buscan exactamente lo mismo que yo, la esperada imagen.
Por supuesto las imágenes que selecciono para mi blog de Hive son exclusivas y están elegidas de una manera muy especial entre muchas de las que recojo y son un claro ejemplo de el tipo de detalles que quiero mostraros. En esta ocasión se suelen ver grandes imágenes de pasos, figuras, Cristo y vírgenes pero yo quería traeros algo que se saliera un poco de este tipo de fotografía. He visto muchísima gente recogiendo imágenes con teléfonos y cámaras por eso seleccione para mi blog estas fotos tan especiales y diferentes. El ambiente que se respira estos días, al margen de la religión o de la fe, es también parte de esta gran tradición. Yo solo soy un mero espectador y recojo los momentos concretos y las situaciones que puedo observar y dejo al margen consideraciones personales, creencias o motivos de cada uno de nosotros.
Como os decía es una selección muy especial que quería mostraros solamente en la colmena para todos aquellos amantes de la fotografía, sin más. Un fuerte abrazo amigos.
