PhotoEdits @oscarps - Between souvenirs and typical products
A walk through the most touristic area of this region of the country, Extremadura in Spain, inevitably leads me to one of the most emblematic provincial capitals of this area, the city of Cáceres. In a small square located in the upper part of its center, I stay watching this couple, hallmark and example of a time ago, who walk distracted in their things, seeming that he is courting the lady. The clothes they wear are also from the period, perhaps from the 19th or early 20th centuries.
Standing in front of them for a long moment, I waited for a passerby to pass by to break the stillness of this beautiful bronze statue to break his apparent stillness. A widely used photographic resource to offer the viewer of the image two concepts in one plane, the sensation of movement, of dynamism and the stillness of an inanimate object that completes it.
My tour and series today is urban-themed but focusing on the tourist aspect that this area of my city, adjacent to its main square, shows. When we walk through these local streets of food, regional tapas, typical products, souvenirs and also many places with a variety of merchandise flank both banks. When I see what they offer, a hypnotic and attractive effect envelops my walk and I cannot stop observing the different shop windows and their arrangement in this entire stretch of street.
The good observer of some of these photographs will realize some precise details that I wanted to appear in these image planes. The idea of offering you a table with the menu for that day and its price, for example. It was still early in the morning and the sun fell a bit slanted, this offered me the opportunity to photograph these streets with their shadows. This old area of the city is usually quite gloomy due to the star-studded and stone streets. In this area of the country, the heat of late spring and summer hits hard and it is very pleasant to walk through this shady area that preserves that cool feeling very well in its buildings and stone streets.
When I get to a fork between two streets, I find a place that I consider to be the clearest example of what the products of this area are: Iberian products. Salchichones, chorizos, hams from both avenged and the autochthonous Iberian black-legged pig. Extremadura is a land of meadows where the holm oaks have a very large population and it is where these Iberians eat, breed and live in the freedom of these great natural spaces. A sustainable ecosystem that has been known since ancient times, the meadows of cork oaks and holm oaks.
Of course when downloading the images I had to select after observing some photos which were the ones that best matched the description that I am offering today from my blog. I hope you liked this tour, greetings friends.

Un paseo por la zona más turística de esta región del país, Extremadura en España me lleva irremediablemente a una de las capitales de provincia más emblemática de esta zona, la ciudad de Cáceres. En una pequeña plaza situado en la parte alta de su centro me quedo observando a esta pareja, sello y ejemplo de un tiempo atrás, que pasean distraídos en sus cosas pareciendo que él está cortejando a la dama. Las vestiduras que portan son también de época quizás siglos XIX o principios del XX. Al pararme delante de ellas durante un buen momento esperé a que alguno viandante pasara para romper la quietud de esta hermosa estatua de bronce para romper su aparente quietud. Un recurso fotográfico bastante usado para ofrecer al espectador de la imagen dos conceptos en un plano, la sensación de movimiento, de dinamismo y la quietud de un objeto inanimado que la completa.
Mi recorrido y serie de hoy es de temática urbana pero centrándome en el aspecto turístico que muestra esta zona de mi ciudad aledaña a su plaza mayor. Cuando paseamos por estas calles locales de comidas, tapas regionales, productos típicos, recuerdos y también muchos locales con una variedad de mercancías flanquean ambas orillas. Al ir viendo lo que ofrecen un efecto hipnótico y atrayente envuelve mi pasar y no puedo dejar de observar los distintos escaparates y su disposición en este completo tramo de calle.
El buen observador de algunas de estas fotografías se dará cuenta de algunos detalles precisos que quería figuraran es estos planos de imagen. La idea de ofreceros una tabla con el menú de ese día y su precio, por ejemplo. Aun era temprano por la mañana y el sol caía un poco sesgado, esto me ofrecía la oportunidad de fotografiar estas calles con sus sombras. Esta zona antigua de la ciudad suele ser bastante sombría debido a que son calles estrellas y de piedra. En esta zona del país el calor de finales de primavera y verano pega fuerte y es muy agradable recorrer esta zona de sombras que conservan muy bien esa sensación de fresquito en sus edificios y calles de piedra.
Cuando llego a una bifurcación de dos calles me encuentro un local que considero el ejemplo más claro de lo que son los productos de esta zona, los ibéricos. Salchichones, chorizos, jamones tanto de vengado como del autóctono cerdo Ibérico de pata negra. Extremadura es una tierra de dehesas donde las encinas tienen una población muy números y es donde estos ibéricos comen, crían y viven entre la libertad de estos grandes espacios naturales. Un ecosistema sostenible que se conoce desde tiempos remotos, las dehesas de alcornoques y encinas.
En esta misma calle encuentro posando a Marilyn y no puedo evitar tomarle unas fotografías a esta mujer, símbolo de una generación y diva, desde todos los ángulos posibles. Ella está muy quieta además lo que me facilita mucho poder capturarla. Cuando la estaba observando sus facciones y gestos me tuvieron un tiempo pensando en ella, sin duda esta diosa tenía algo muy especial, una extraña mezcla de sensualidad, de debilidad, de independencia y de ingenuidad que la caracteriza, al menos para mí. Por supuesto al descargar las imágenes tuve que seleccionar después de observar algunas fotos cuales eran las que más me coincidían con la descripción que estoy ofreciendo hoy desde mi blog.
