Photography from a running bus with tinted windows
I am a total first timer on that since I am the driver in the vast majority of times. Car or bike that is, busses are not in my range yet neither in any of my desires 🙂 However, after taking the first picture I found it kinda funny:
I mean, as a photographer in such conditions you are a slave to the tinted windows colour wise so they all look as if you put a pair of sunglasses in front of the lens:
And at the same time a moving bus makes them partially blurry too:
On the other hand this is one of the best rides one can have leaving Athens behind, starting from the coastal South end of the city going all the way up to the Cape of Sounio. I didn't do all the way, I was just forced to use a bus since I left my car and came back to the place I used to rent for the last 6 months to pick my bike.
You can enjoy the harvest nevertheless free of charge:
But even if you wanna pay that bus is far from expensive. It's less than 7 euros to make it all the way up to Sounio. Enjoy the rest of my harvest and decide for yourself if it worth the ride:
So that's probably my last post till I hit the road this Sunday for my longest motorcycle trip ever, be sure I will deliver images without tinted windows as there's no windows on a bike anyway.
Stay tuned, see you soon during my long adventure!
Wow, that's cheap 7 euros for that distance.. I come from Hamburg and you don't get to the next shop for that..
Slightly exgaturated .. lol
I like trains and buses sometimes.. I can leave the stress to others.
Sunglasses on the lens, yes, but they have more like an old quality to me, like photos of the 70s that got a bit yellow, a curious thing indeed!
That's right they do feel like 70s stuff like this. It's a very cheap bus service indeed, also considering that the ride is so scenic and it ends at such an emblematic spot (Sounio Cape). The downside is that the service is not as good. You really have to put your body in front of the bus if you wait for it at a stop alone as the drivers don't pay attention. A few days I had to use it while moving my stuff from the house I rented back to my place in Athens (since I can't drive both my car and bike at the same time) and even though I waved to the driver from far he was speeding on the middle lane and stopped 50 m after the stop. A guest of mine years ago lost it, even though I told her to be careful about it.
She got killed? Am I reading that right? That's terrible!
I've been to Greece many years ago and I remember all that beeping before corners.. as if slowing down isn't an option.
I think it was Greece.. or Italy? 🤔
Possibly both..
No no no, she was just waiting on the stop thinking the bus would stop or at least slow down and she lost it. Greek drivers are noticeably worse than the European average. You have to go to South Italy to see worse or the rest of Balkans to see worse.
AH, big sigh!! I'm relieved to hear that!
So, guess, I remember that correctly then, Italy as well.. lol
Hope, you have a lovely day!!
U 2!
