Via Dei Falegnami - Bolonha / Road Trip Through Italy

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog :-)
After enjoying that first moment in the ever-vibrant Piazza Maggiore, with its almost cinematic atmosphere that only Bologna knows how to create, we continued walking without much of a destination, simply absorbing the ambiance. The sun shone on the facades as if trying to highlight every detail of the city, and Bologna, vain as it is, seemed to enjoy the attention.
And so, almost by chance, we found Via dei Falegnami.

The street, despite being discreet, has an unexpected charm that is only discovered when you decide to walk without haste. It's narrow, welcoming, as if someone had decided that streets can also give hugs. The facades, in warm tones, seemed aligned in a parade of soft colors. There are ochres, faded oranges, crimson shadows. The late morning light enhanced everything.

The street's name, dei Falegnami, doesn't leave much room for guessing. It used to be where carpenters concentrated. And, for some reason, that makes sense. There's a kind of texture there, a gentle rusticity that matches the idea of handcrafted wood. Even the sound of footsteps seems to echo differently. Maybe it's my imagination, or maybe Bologna really does have this talent for adding layers to everything.

People passed by with that typical calmness of places that don't need to prove anything to anyone. An elderly gentleman slowly pedaled a bicycle even older than himself, two friends laughed loudly while balancing ice creams that were clearly about to melt, and for a moment, I had the feeling of watching life unfold unfiltered, without attempts to impress. Just simple, honest, and beautiful.

I continued walking down the street, feeling that mixture of familiarity and discovery that I so enjoy when I travel. It's funny how sometimes it's these side streets that end up leaving a bigger mark on us than the grand monuments. Perhaps because the city truly lives there. No stage, no pretense, just its pure, unpretentious essence, full of personality.
And all this while the sun continued to shine, warming the skin and making the stroll even more pleasant. Not bad for someone who, not long ago, was trying to find parking.

I hope you enjoyed.
See you around.
Wishing you much peace and health

Hola, @onyfest 🫂
