Reforestation of The Oblatos Canyon, Guadalajara, Mexico
A few days ago I had the opportunity to participate in a reforestation project in Oblatos Canyon. It was a beautiful day, with clouds touching the ground, people helping a lot with the planting of trees, and overall it was a fantastic experience.
Wikipedia: The Huentitán Canyon, also known as the Oblatos Canyon, is a canyon and protected natural area in the state of Jalisco, Mexico, north of the municipality of Guadalajara. It borders the municipalities of Tonalá, Zapotlanejo, Ixtlahuacán del Ro, and Zapopan in the Guadalajara metropolitan area.
The Huentitán Canyon covers approximately 1,137 hectares (2,810 acres) and has an average depth of 600 metres (2,000 ft). The elevation difference between the canyon rim (1,520 metres (4,990 ft) and the river (1,000 metres (3,300 ft) is 520 metres (1,710 ft) at the cable car stop.
Its breathtaking beauty and being just a few minutes from the city make this paradise a perfect opportunity to escape the city without leaving the city.
