A warm morning for a leisurely walk around Mierendorff Island. Not only is the sun keeping me company, but also squirrels, butterflies, herons, seagulls, grasshoppers, and ducks. At the bridge with the three spiral ramps for getting on and off the island on the north side, I came across a find left behind by a magnet fisherman. A rotting bicycle, completely encrusted with mussels, that must have been lying here in the water for quite some time. At one of my favorite spots for breathing exercises—where the sun’s rays, reflected off the water, played across my face—I encountered a relaxed heron that was also enjoying the morning sun and wasn’t bothered by my presence. As you look at the photos, they’ll convey the mood of that morning.

Ein warmer Morgen für eine entspannte Runde um die Mierendorffinsel herum. Nicht nur die Sonne begleitet mich, sondern auch Eichhörnchen, Schmetterlinge, Reiher, Möwen, Grashüpfer und Enten. An der Brücke mit den drei spiralförmigen Rampen zum Auf- und Abfahren an der Nordseite der Insel erwartete mich das Fundstück eines Magnetanglers. Ein verrottetes und über und über mit Muscheln besetztes Fahrrad, das schon eine Weile hier im Wasser gelegen haben muss. An einem meiner Lieblingsplätze für Atemübungen, wo mir auch die Sonnenstrahlen reflektiert vom Wasser im Gesicht spielten, traf ich einen entspannten Reiher, der auch die Morgensonne genoss und sich nicht von mir stören ließ.
