A sudden slice of sunrise had stopped me in my tracks as if the city itself had whispered my name. I had captured that golden orange glow dancing in the distant window row and spreading over the Spree like warm paint on cold glass. I interval walked the Luiseninsel loop through the palace gardens where I greeted the always nicely decorated bust of the queen as usual. I also visited the hollow tree that was lit by a small LED candle today and filled with handwritten Christmas wishes. I felt grounded, grateful and gently awake.

Ein plötzlicher Sonnenstreif hatte mich innehalten lassen als hätte die Stadt selbst meinen Namen geflüstert. Ich habe dieses goldorangene Glühen für euch eingefangen das in der fernen Fensterreihe tanzte und sich später auch über die Spree legte wie warme Farbe auf kaltem Glas. Ich ging die Luiseninselrunde in Intervallen durch den Schlosspark und begrüßte wie üblich die geschmückte Büste der Königin. Ich besuchte auch den hohlen Baum der heute mit einer kleinen LED Kerze beleuchtet und mit handschriftlichen Weihnachtswünschen gefüllt war. Ich fühlte mich geerdet dankbar und sanft wach.
